I visited a few weeks ago for Sunday Brunch with some out of town visitors. I thought The Cottage would impress them but the quality of the food was SO POOR that I was dreadfully embarrassed. My sister ordered the Mahi tacos which she said were completely unseasoned and tasteless. The other meals were of very poor quality, too. My... More

Ate dinner here on a Friday night. Fortunately, the restaurant was not terribly crowded. Sadly, the food was poor and the service was worse. We waited 30 minutes for drink that we ultimately canceled. of course, a few minutes after we canceled the drink, the server brought it. The ceasar salad we were served did not resemble any ceasar salad... More

Eight of our family were at the Cottage in Chestnut Hill for a family birthday celebration for Saturday evening on October 8. I found the food highly overpriced for the quality and quantity. My one lonely crab cake was on the plate for $14. My wife's Baby Kale Salad with roasted vegetables at $11 was clearly not baby kale as... More

I was here with a friend for dinner. The service was good, however the food was ok. In fact I think that the Wellesley has better food. I did enjoy my evening, however it is pricey for the food that is being offered

I went with a friend of mine to have a nicae dinner. We had a lovely table outside, by a ping pong table. The first half hour we were surrounded by children running after their ping pong balls. I was not at Chuck E Cheese so felt I shouldn't have to deal with this. We ordred drinks. I do recommend... More

Have been there a few times now and each time the quality is consistently good - the prices are fair, the portions are generous and the service is excellent . Nice casual setting and a great place for a drink with some appetizers or for a casual meal. Definitely go back here again.

On May 15,eleven of us had brunch at The Cottage in Chestnut Hill to celebrate my daughter's graduation from college. She had been once before with a large group of people and everyone had loved their food. We had some good food on May 15 too, but had a number of disappointments which I took the time to write to... The Cottage restaurant has a lovely open design with light colors and great décor. The menu has an interesting variety of items, some are interesting and unusual like Griddled Jumbo Lump Crab Cake, while others are more common in name but equally distinctive in taste.

We waited over an hour for our entrees (a salad and a steak). Worse, my crab cake appetizer came with HUNKS OF ICE mixed into the frisée. Clearly the vegetables had been previously frozen, which is just unnecessary and off putting. For the price, we won't come back.

I have eaten at The Cottage several times with different friends and have always enjoyed the service and the food. Yesterday I met a friend for a catch up conversation and lunch. The hostess was pleasant and helpful -- she noted that there was a woman waiting for a friend and wanted to make sure it was not my party.... More
