We stopped at Ceia just by chance walking the streets of Newburyport on January 2nd. It appeared to be a nicely appointed establishment with an interesting menu. The restaurant was almost empty when we arrived for an early dinner. This allowed for a choice table...More

Ceia is a beautifully appointed restaurant with the loveliest servers. I have been there three times recently. They were all underwhelming. This is the kind of place I used to come for a cozy experience in a warm environment yet for a hearty meal ,...More

I'm a local diner and have eaten here many times. On the plus side the food is usually fine, not great. My big issue is the value. I get farm to table, local ingrediants and paying for quality. But tonight was ridiculous. First, there were...More

Atmosphere is wonderful and very relaxing; service was outstanding with a friendly and courteous staff, especially the bartender Jeremy and our server Julia, made the experience even more enjoyable. Food is amazing!

Burger and Chacuterie are awesome. Rest of food is just overpriced and eh. Service is good at bar, but stay away on weekends.

A three story brick building with exposed beams and tables outside provides lots of atmosphere . The food is eclectic American bistro. Good quality but not fancy. Oysters were fresh and local. Duck was cooked perfectly. We sat at the copper topped bar and enjoyed...More

Went for drinks and apps on a whim with my spouse. Drinks and apps were very overpriced for the quantity! Paid about 75 for a couple of drinks and apps. Bar tender ignored us and spoke with the only other patron (young female) at the...More

I don't know if the restaurant is open for Easter. As for nut allergies, I think the kitchen would be very attentive to any special requests or needs. There were not any dishes that I remember having peanuts. Almonds... More

Where laughter is required. Jacket & tie are not. Going out with friends or a special someone means choosing a neighborly place that feels as comfortable as home, where conversation flows as easily as a smooth cabernet. Welcome to Ceia Kitchen + Bar. A new kind of nightlife in the heart of Downtown Newburyport, introducing this area"s first extended kitchen hours for later night dining or tete-a-tete cocktails with flavorful small plates. Our exposed brick interior with mellow lighting, cozy banquets and featured cocktail bar beckon even impromptu visits to this reliable neighborly eatery where singles, dates and a posse of good friends are assured of a comfortable night out with delicious food and great company. The spirit of Ceia (pr. SAY-yah) is in the translation of our name: "supper" in Portuguese, the language of one country included among the inspiring stops of our coastal European culinary repertoire.
