If you are looking for old style South Shore cooking, fried clams, fried scallops, fried fish, etc. this is the place to go. You'll probably get enough food to take home for tomorrow's lunch. This is not for me.

Some colleagues brought me here over the weekend break during a business trip. At Schooner's you can have more or less the same traditional New England dishes you can have in Boston (alongside some burgers which I didn't try out), with some substantial differences: convenient prices and better overall quality. The seafood platter I ordered was spans above the same... More

The outside allure of the restaurant is non-existent. It looks like a dive. A person semi-greets you at the door. If you were a local you would have been greeted by name and placed in your usual spot if it was available. Someone will direct you to a seat. The tables and chairs are worn. But this place isn't about... More

This is an old school locals restaurant during the off season. At 5/6pm in the middle of November on a Friday night, the bar is packed. Clam chowder, OH MY GOD. Creamy, unctuous and no chewiness even slightly detectable in the clams. Caesar salad was fresh, with delicious dressing. The Fisherman's platter was HUGE... like, my husband and I split... More

This place is no "looker", but you'll enjoy every morsel of food that you're served here. The baked fisherman's platter was generous, the baked haddock delicious. the chowder excellent, and the service warm and friendly.

I was alone on a busy evening--I did not have to wait long to be seated. After about 20 minutes I still had not been waited on. I was thinking about leaving, when the hostess realized I had been "lost in the shuffle"---within 8 minutes my order was placed and I received my food----with sincere apologies----It was delicious and I... Went here for early dinner last night. Friendly service....seems like a spot for locals. The clam chowder was amazing!! The warm bread was very good as well.

Chowder is great and fisherman platter is large enough to feed four. This is not a fancy establishment so it would probably be a good place to bring the family. If you're in the area stop by for a nice, comfy meal. Hull is beautiful and Schooners is right across from the beach. Enjoy!

We went to Schooners on a Friday, arrived about 5:45. No wait, service was a little slow for so early but improved as the restaurant filled up. Food was good and portions were large. By the time we left - around 7 - the restaurant was completely full and people were waiting.
