Three friends passing through stopped in to get take out breakfast sandwiches and coffee. The place was jammed to the gills and we were challenged just trying to wind our way through the crowded tables to get to the register to order. Our server, a young lady in early 20s, was doing the register, taking care of counter service and... More

This is the #1 place for breakfast in Gloucester, hands down--good menu, best bacon in town, relaxed atmosphere, clean, and with fast, courteous service, and more. Went there recently with a friend who has allergies, and the waitress (Dee) was so solicitous, asking about every ingredient, and the cook (Mike) came out to the table to discuss options with my... Many people like Georges for breakfast and there is usually a 'wait line', especially on weekends during 'the season', i.e., Memorial Day to Labor Day. There is also a line during the 'off-season', but, of course, it's not as long. This is a place that both visitors and locals LOVE. If one is interested in QUANTITY this is definitely the place... We found this place by accident exploring the town early in the morning before heading out. It was a little crowded but we didn't have to wait long. The food was great! The pancakes are huge. Very friendly place to stop at.

George's never disappoints. Enough food for at least two meals. Excellent preparation. Old-fashioned prices. We always feel that we've stepped back in time. Gloucester is in a wonderful time warp, and George's is one of the few breakfast places that still preserve that feel. No pretense. Just honest, good food at a reasonable price. The lines out the door attest... More

This is a very popular place for breakfast. It is not that big so therefore there is cpuld be quite a wait. However, we were fortunate. You get a lot of delicious food for a good price .

George's is one of the mainstays of Cape Ann locals, who often make breakfast dates with friends to meet at this favorite coffee shop. The staff is friendly and warm and the food made fresh and to your liking. You can't go wrong here!

Ate at Georges after taking the redeye from San Diego. Place sits on a corner and is how we found it. Glad we did. The restaurant has been around for almost a hundred years and the reason is good not complicated food at a very reasonable price. Wait staff was friendly and helpful. Food came quickly and hot. Had a... More

Had a basic breakfast after a redeye flight from San Diego. Place has been in business for almost a hundred years and there is a reason. Good food made well and a very fair price. Not fancy, locals restaurant and on Wed. mid morning no wait. Nice waitress, fast service. My wife had the egg sandwich which she loved and... More

We were traveling through Cape Ann and looking for a little spot for local ice cream. We came across this gem ran by the same family that runs Georges Coffee Shop (only wish we could have stayed longer to eat here). Deidre let us sample some to the delicious flavors of ice cream from the Richardson Farm. Rich, creamy and... More
