My favorite portuguese restaurant.Always fresh, creative and generous portions. I've had just about everything on the menu and never disappointed. My favorite server is Andea. She's top notch, always cheerful, attentive, knowledgeable about menu and offers great suggestions for cinner and wine pairings. Owner is...always there and keeping a close eye on thing which I appreciate. Specials are always unique and chef driven. I especially enjoy the marascada, Sarges steak (the port wine mushroom sauce is delicious) and stewed octopus.More

This place has always been a solid choice, and it's located in the heart of Fall River's Portuguese area. The decor is very modern and dimly lit, giving it an expensive vibe; you'd be hard-pressed to find a prettier atmosphere. The food was great. We...had the Portuguese steak and the paella. The paella alone could have fed three people, but both were amazing. My only complaint is that the eggs served over the steak were over done for my liking...I like the yolks runny on that particular dish. Otherwise, no complaints at all. Definitely worth the stop if you want a full, Fall River Portuguese experience!More

The restaurant exceeded our expectations. There were eight of us and we all enjoyed our entree. Aidan our waiter provided great service and food recommendations. Highly recommend their house Pino Grigio. The Portuguese rolls were so light and delicious. The portions are very generous and they...have extensive variety to choose from. Some of our favorites were the duck, paella, lamb, salmon and the steak with mushroom sauce. I would get mashed potatoes next time to get more of that mushroom sauce. We all enjoyed a taste of the white bean pie that Aidan recommended. The chocolate mouse was light and fluffy with our cappuccinos.More

The three of us ordered different meals (veal piccata, roasted octopus, roasted duck). A starter of fresh goat cheese. A wonderful bottle of Portuguese wine. The meals were absolutely excellent. As always Keith waitered on us. The lunch was excellent as was the service. I...have eaten a Sagres many times or the years. I consider the restaurant to be upscale. I always enjoy my time there. Because of the atmosphere and my personal experience at Sagres I would recommend to management a proper dress code. Gentlemen should not be allowed to wear baseball caps (backwards) or sleeveless shirts in the dining room like the did today.More

This is an authentic Portuguese restaurant. It is good, fress, genuine, tasty, generous, and most of all - you feel at home. We started with goat cheeses. Big mistake :-) it was so good with the bread and we almost had too much of it....The shrimps were the next course, while they were tasty, we needed to dip the bread in the divine gravy that was spicy and wonderful. The octupus dish was the crown jewel, a huge dish, enough for two persons. With 2 glasses (for me) of great house wine, the meal was pefect. I will return.More

From the moment we walked into the restaurant - The service was rushed , rude, and wait staff were MIA - then when you would ask for bread a drink or even a fork we were told you'll need to ask someone else. The Food...was Great as usual however timing between appetizers and dinner were completely rushed and basically we all felt like they were just dying for us to leave.More

I loved it, there is not a lot of variety of food around here and eating Portuguese food is so fun, flavorful and enjoyable. We started off with their special bread with the goat cheese, and we had paella as well for the table to...share along with steak, lobster, and other great plates.More

Fun evening with friends , all of us trying this restaurant for the first time, and 2 of us trying Portuguese food also for the first time. Two had steak and 2 chicken dishes, and all were good though not great. The appetizers were all...very good: the goat cheese, the littleneck clams in broth, and the fried calamari. We all liked the vanilla cheesecake too.More

We ordered take out this past Thirsday for dinner & let's just say they're lucky the food was not eaten as a dine-in customer because all of the food would have been sent back. We ordered the Shrimp Mocambique appetizer, totally NOT worth the $$......it was small-sized, peeled shrimp that was drowning in the greasy Mocambique sauce. When we order this dish at other Portuguese restaurants, it's a decent size & has the peel still on to give it more flavor, which is typical in a Portuguese restaurant & how we prefer our shrimp. We also ordered Galinha a Alentjana & the Prato Acoriano which has pork & figado (liver). Both entrees were overcooked. The liver was so dry that was almost burnt on one side & the pork had no flavor. The Galinha (chicken) a Alentjana was overcooked, as well, the chicken was very dry, the potatoes & chicken had no flavor & the sauce was greasy & had way too much parsley. This meal was almost "free" because we had a gift card from Christmas to this restaurant & we were just able to use it now due to COVID-19 restrictions. It was an extremely disappointing experience to say the least. It's almost embarrassing the dichotomy from our delicious lunch experience at yet another Portuguese restaurant, The Clipper, also in Fall River, MA. Our lunch there was delicious, great portion sizes on all of our food from soups, salad & entrees & an attentive waiter, John, whom has been working there for many years. So to sum up our day of Portuguese delights the only delights to be had & that was worth the drive, money & calories was from the latter of the two establishments.More

This place is fantastic. We got take out and had an hour ride home and we’re a little worried it would not be good. Take out is tough on its own never mind with an hour drive. The food was excellent. We got the caldo...verde soup, carne de porco a alentejana , and the bacalhau a Gomes de sa. The food was all to die for. The soup was very good. The pork had a great spice with the broth and with the clams and potatoes was excellent. The bacalhau was just perfectly done. I highly recommend going here and I know I will go back.More

I had the Carne de Porco a Alentejana which was to die for. I am Portuguese and have not tasted anything close to what my grandmother made until I ate at Sagres. The portions are more than ample, the waitstaff is friendly, very helpful and...accommodating. Wonderful atmosphere, and comfortable. We felt like family. Highly recommended.More

My wife and I picked our daughter up for Spring break at a nearby college and thought we stop in Fall River on the way home since they have a large selection of generally good Portuguese foods. I actually found Sagres on Tripadvisor and have...to thank everyone for the reviews. I must say that the paella was better than some we have had in Spain. The other dishes were e3qually as good including a shrimp appetizer in a Mazambique sauce. The service and staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. My wife had a small issue which did not have any impact on us but, the owner was generally concerned. This is a must for a foodie or anyone looking for outstanding food. It is worth the drive from either Boston or Providence. You absolutely will not be disappointed. We will be back......More
