We have always been fans for Fortune Palace. The original one use to be in Peabody center and then they just maintained the Essex one. The owner is always pleasant and the food is consistently great and affordable. The restaurant could use a little sprucing up since its last renovation but worth the drive to enjoy. You can call ahead... More

After reading some of the reviews, I was reluctant to eat here. However, a long time friend picked it as a convenient to meet. The restaurant has two sides-a sushi bar to the right and a restaurant to the left. The bar was quite busy; the restaurant less so. We sat in the restaurant where I was surprised to find... More

This place has decent food. We recently visited and had the spicy shrimp and vegetables, which also includes peanuts, and a side of brown rice. All cooked well. We also had the spring rolls (greasy) and since they also offer Japanese fare, we shared a Unagi/Avocado roll (6). Delicious. The dining room is large on the "Chinese side", where we... More

We know a couple who says this is their favorite restaurant in Essex. We ate here once, couldn't finish the meal, took the leftovers home and eventually threw them out. Chacun à son goût.

We stopped here for lunch as we do not eat seafood. We were absolutely surprised at how incredibly delicious the food was. The atmosphere inside is just so so. but the views of the ocean were absolutely incredible. And their fried rice is awesome.

The bar has improved because they seem to have hired a real bartender. We had fun and so did she. The place could use a little updating but the hospitality was great

We are vegan and were impressed with the vegetarian/vegan options available. This can be a challenge when travelling as many places haven't caught up with the increasing demand for meatless food. A "10" for the food, the staff, and the setting.

We have eaten at the Fortune Palace for many years. Our favorite dishes are the pork fried rice with bean sprouts and the Mango Chicken. These dishes are very tasty and most reasonable. The restaurant ha a lovely view, set in the marshes of the North Shore and the inlet of Essex. The staff is very cordial. We recommend the... More
