Stayed nearby at the Whitcomb Summit Motel, where the owner recommended this restaurant. The food was good enough - continental style, reasonable selection, etc. Wine choices not great, service friendly. Salad was not good and should have been omitted. The real star is the view from the balcony. Go anytime, but just before sunset was a good time to arrive.... More

Great views of the surrounding foliage on a bright sunny day. Restaurant itself is perfectly OK but a bit faded. We sat on the balcony with the PVC screens down on a cool autumn's day and drank hot chocolate. Worth a trip for view and drink.

Was once the place to go for a great meal with beautiful views of the valley. Food quality has declined last few times I've gone there unfortunately. Keep going back hoping they'll get a new chef but not yet. Smaller portions now.

If it were not for the fantastic location, I would not recommend this restaurant. Because the location is the attraction, a window location downstairs, or a balcony location upstairs is a must. Oddly enough, when talking about the Mohawk Trail experience, we will include our mention of this restaurant for the great view. In that regard, it is an indirect... More

The Hair Pin Curve has been a favorite stopping point on the Mohawk Trail since 1914. The restaurant has expanded over the years and has kept up with the times. We had a good meal and enjoyed the foliage with travelers form all over the East Coast.

Our friends and us stopped here during a sunny day leaf watching expedition. It was almost 4pm so we stopped for something light before continuing on. We sat on the second floor balcony taking in the view. My wife and our friends had the soup of the day which as the Wisconsin cheddar cheese with bacon and I had the... More

From the outside, the restaurant looks like a nice place. However, the food was a disappointment, although perhaps it was what we chose. I had a salad and crabcakes, while my partner had the steak marinated in red wine. Service was cordial, but tables had plastic (!) tablecloths and plastic flowers. Not really worth the visit.

We went here to watch the sunset. We made a reservation, but that wasn't necessary as the place was fairly empty. I ordered a bowl if the chowder. It was overly salty and had few clams and potatoes. Just so so. Your meal comes with a kidney bean relish. It was actually quite good, but the crackers were all stale.... More

We stayed at Whitcomb Summit Retreat and, with your key, you get a discount at the Golden Eagle, the closest restaurant. We got there early and had a table with a view across to Mt Greylock. We had a tasty meal as the very large dining room slowly filled with families and groups. We learned that several previous buildings had... More

Make sure you get a seat outside on the front porch. The view is spectacular. The food is average, but good. The service was excellent.
