First off, the food was good so I'm not complaining at all. However, with all the build up people had done in recommending this place, I was expecting to be blown away. The water views at sunset were amazing but that was the best part of the evening. So when location is the best thing I can say, overall good,... More

This is a restaurant in a great location with an excellent water view and formerly excellent food. We have been going to the Mattakeese Wharf restaurant for many, many years. Recently, they added (very unnecessary) valet parking. When we protested, the attendant said we could park in their adjacent free parking area, which we did. On the way back from... More

We started with the homemade potato chips and they were delicious. We all had the fried haddock and it was very good. The view is amazing. Beautiful sunset. Our waitress was friendly and the service was good. Would have liked to go again but they had closed for the season.

We didn't think so many restaurants would be closed on a Monday and so ended up here by default. We should have turned around when we walked in and there were only 4 tables occupied, but we were hungry. The evening was cool and the room we were in was not warm. Started with oysters which were just okay. I... More

A dear friend almost 90 wanted to take us here in memory of her long departed husband who loved it. The view is beautiful but the food left a lot to be desired. Our host and I had the $29 seafood special which was not at all special. Our other member had the $28 pasta seafood which was also far... More

Great place to stop for a drink (nice bartender!) but the food is not worth it...at least not anymore! I taste frozen here...and that shouldn't be happening anywhere on the Cape. Its really too bad, too. I'm a local and patronize only locally-owned restaurants but just can't give any support here!

Could not have chosen a better spot Tucked down away from the busy Summer traffic and crowds. We sat in the bar area while we waited for a table ( not long). The waitstaff was very friendly Drinks very good AND reasonable! We were seated at a lovely round Table in the back on the restaurant Overlooking Barnstable harbor Beautiful!!!... More

We came here with some friends after a day touring the Cape. It was the perfect end to a very nice day. I think there is an excellent view but it was dark so we can't see. The food is excellent, especially the chowder.

Went for dinner the other night and was not disappointed. We had a great waitress and the service was very good. First of all, they have a very good pour of the wine, not like a lot of places where it's that measured pour. We began with the stuffed quahogs and clams casino which were very good. Then on to... Description
Reopening May 5, 2017. Mattakeese Wharf is a SEASONAL waterfront restaurant on Cape Cod, MA since 1968. We serve fresh, local seafood including lobsters, steaks, chicken, and some Italian specialties. There is no better romantic sunset view while dining on the Cape than here at Mattakeese Wharf. See the sunset slideshow on our website with many photos contributed by diners. We are open late April through mid October. Mattakeese Wharf is located next to a whale watching boat so we are a natural destination after your day on the water with the whales. We offer a full bar and live entertainment during the summer season... a great place to watch the Sox games! We serve lunch and dinner 7 days a week plus Brunch on Sundays. We are open from 11:30am until well into the evening.... depending on how busy we are, roughly 10-11pm.
