Let me first start off with the previous review about sitting outside, they were 100% accurate... We arrived and they sat us upstairs on the deck, once we were seated, I remembered seeing the review about sitting outside but it was too late.. I was sweating the entire time, but that is 100% out of the restaurants control, so it doesn’t factor into my review.
We started off with Blueberry Lemon Crushes, they were probably my favorite of all the crushes I’ve had this week. The lemon flavor was perfect and the berries were very fresh. For dinners I ordered the Halibut Imperial for my entree with the Asparagus for my side, and it was absolutely delicious. Loaded with Lump Crab Imperial stuffing, the risotto was very good and the asparagus was cooked perfectly.
My partner ordered the Crab Cake Dinner, and he said it was only second to Harrison’s on the Harbor. So I can definitely say the food is delicious. The only reason for giving a 4/5 would be the prices. They were considerably more than Harrison’s by $7.00 for the Crab Cake dinner, and comparable, but still bested but those ones. They didn’t give complimentary bread or anything, we did order the $3.99 4 Cheddar Biscuits, which were good, but I didn’t think charging $4 for bread would be something necessary with a $34.00 meal and a $36.00 meal, but other than that, its fantastic.

We were taking a quick break in Ocean City, and found ourselves in West Ocean City around dinner time. We had seen Sunset Grill’s menu on line and love Maryland seafood. It’s rare when a restaurant exceeds expectations in every aspect, but that’s what we experienced. We were seated next to the water and it was still light out so we had a nice view. Our server, Greg , was not only pleasant and efficient, but anticipated our needs bringing extra salad dressing just before we were going to ask for some. And the food was simply flawless. The crab dip contained lumps of crab with the spring onion providing a bit of sweet crunch and the pretzel roles a great vehicle for the gooey dip. The chopped salad was perfection and nicely fresh with a tasty dressing. The crab imperial was fit for a czar and my wife’s salmon was flawlessly seared and perfectly cooked. In 40 years of coming to Ocean City, my wife and I decided this was the best meal we’ve ever had in Ocean City. Looking forward to our next visit.

It was our first time eating here. We were seated in the bar area since the restaurant had no other seating outside or indoors. We ordered the filet mignon medium well and it was served medium well. The meat was tender and flavorful. It came with mash potatoes and coleslaw. Both were very good. Another ordered a fish dish which was served in a bowl in a broth with different spices. This was well prepared as well. We would recommend this place.

We went to Sunset Grill for a special occasion dinner tonight for my daughters 22nd birthday with 6 people. We requested a table inside or under cover. We were seated under an umbrella and were wet the entire dinner. We ordered several appetizers. The server forgot to put them in. We waited 1 hour. We asked about our appetizers. The server had a really confused look on her face. 15 minutes later our entrees arrive. Our appetizers arrived shortly after the entrees. My strip steak for $39 as ordered med rare and served to me well done. If your going to have the nerve to charge $39 for a steak, you better be able to serve it to temp. I sent it back and got a couple lamb chops. I left with a $290 bill and left a $60 tip. I feel really sorry for the team and their current situation. Don’t know if I’ll be back.... my daughters birthday dinner was not special. In fact, it was awful.

We made reservations and had many people recommend this restaurant. A few concerns I had. We were seated in the bar area and we were only offered their fine dining menu and not a bar menu. It was quite loud as they take care of cleaning the dishes from the bar area at the bar. The crashing of dishes while trying to enjoy a $30++ meal was disturbing.
I would try them again in warmer weather and eat outside on the bridge.
Wait staff was attentive enough but not overly for the price.

We were a party of 12, 8 were kids.Told it’d be 1hour to hour & 15 Min wait. We understood limited seating due to virus restrictions but at that point we’d still have to wait anywhere we went. After hour & 45 mins. asked hostess how much longer, we initially even told them they could split our tables. Also asked if time limit per table like many restaurants were doing, she said yes they implemented it but they did not as table was 15 mins. over their time restrictions. We waited two hrs for table.At no time did the owner ( who walked past us several times), offer a thing of fries or anything for our patiently waiting kids. No effort to find other seating for us as they seated many other parties after we arrived. Waiter was wonderful after we explained our frustrations & request to order food ASAP but feel the management sucked at extending good customer service. Won’t return to this place, def. not worth the price or service & limited menu.
I must add- decided we’d grab drinks at bar during 2 hr wait for seating.Again bartender very nice. Male owner interrupts bartender preparing our order to get him and his buds drinks while we wait -just rude

Thank you for your review. We apologize for the time it took us to find two large tables, next to each other, for your party of twelve. This was our first weekend open with extremely limited seating as mandated by the Governor. Although we make every effort to accommodate walk ins, we always recommend reservations for any size party, and especially large parties. We do not put time restrictions on our guests’ dining experience and never have. I’m sorry you were told this. We know you have many dining choices in Ocean City and we sincerely hope you reconsider and give us another chance to provide you with the service, atmosphere, and quality of food and drinks that so many of our customers have come to expect from Sunset Grille.

It was a raining Wednesday, but Sunset Grill and our server brighten our day. My wife and I started with coconut mojitoes and seared tuna app. We than ordered the best deal on their menu the lump crab and jumbo shrimp salad ($17.00) it is the best, should be in the entrees list. Our waitress Jesse was great and really appreciated us coming on such a rainy night. This restaurant has some of the best food, service and atmosphere of any restaurant in OC.

We came here based upon the restaurant ranking, but found out they are over-rated at best. 10 minutes to see our waitress (and we were here early and they weren’t busy). 15 minutes for drinks, and when they came, my margarita was served in a water glass! Who serves margaritas in a water glass? Crabcakes came out overdone, and at about $32, very small for the pair. Wife’s salad was good, but you are paying for the view here, not the food at these prices.

Manager did a fantastic job accommodating my food allergies! Usually when I go to a seafood restaurant and say “i have a shrimp allergy” I take my chances if there will be a seafood I can eat. Add to that telling a restaurant in Maryland I also have an Old Bay allergy? Yeah then usually I’m told to get a burger. Not the case at Sunset Grille! The manager went above and beyond to make sure I could order the meal I wanted and have it be allergy free! I had the Cobb salad with salmon—instead of blackened salmon the chef grilled with different seasoning and it was cooked perfectly. Both of my kids also had the salads and my husband had a different salad on the specials menu with a crab cake that he said was very tasty. Salads were huge and we have leftovers for tomorrow! Thank you Sunset Grille for being so accommodating and not looking at me like “why are you even trying to eat in a Maryland seafood restaurant with food allergies?!” The manager went above and beyond making sure my meal was cooked right—thank you! Will definitely eat here again the next time we are in OCMD

Visiting Assateague island, and went to dinner there…having listened to the Eagles earlier in the day, what better place! They have a porch area, all along the water front and then an area inside, that mirrors that. I asked if we could sit out in the porch area, and even though there were several places, we were told they were reservations. We were seated, basically the only ones inside, near the waiters station so we got to hear everything! Even though there didn’t seem to be a time allotment bfor the reservations..people just trickled in…they were seated in the porch area as if there were no reservations. Finally another group was seated in our area…So, we basically were alone the whole time we ate…not that that’s a problem, but we felt very conspicuous! The young male waiter kept calling me a guy, “you guys” and that might have been nice when I was young, but not now when I could be his mom. It also gave an overly familiar attitude to the situation, when I don’t know him! We ordered the halibut with lobster, and tuna, and left a generous tip. It’s was really cooked perfectly and very tasty! BUT, Around 5:00am, I had to use the bathroom, with my spouse right behind..and that’s some doing when your glamping at a State Park! I don’t know about you all, but when we spend $175.00 plus tip, on a beach meal, in a beach town, I don’t feel like going back!

Overcooked, dry, steak and fish. Not even close to worth the 2 hour wait with a reservation. There was very little concern for the children we had with us that had to sit and wait. A 7:15pm reservation made a week and a half in advance turned into eating at 9:00pm at an indoor table instead of the one reserved with a two year old and a six year old. Our server was very sweet, not her fault the hosting and management was bad and the kitchen took forever. What they comped us was no substitute for common decency and respect as a a large party of paying guests. We all drove over 40 minutes to be there and blew an entire night waiting instead of having time to spend with the kids on the boardwalk or playing mini golf or anything other than making them sit still for three hours to have below average food. The cocktails were good and that’s about it. I leave a lot of room for error as I’ve been in the service industry, but this was absolutely unacceptable and not one employee seemed that concerned about it.

I have been to restaurant several times before but my sister and brother-in-law had not. I had always gotten good food and friendly service, however this time the service was exceptional. Our waitress was Jade and she did an amazing job. She Was very attentive and new answers to all of our questions. The food was definitely well prepared, however the portion size of the appetizers were very small compared to the price that you paid. I recommend using jumbo shrimp for the appetizer and the crab dip was in a very shallow bowl and not enough to really share.

Had a great night with friends and an amazing meal. The Sunset Grille was a last minute decision and the best decision of our trip The food was far above expectations with flavors and presentation. Three appetizers, 2 salads, four entrees and two desserts - everyone exceptional. Our waitress Jess was so friendly and knowledgeable about every dish. After mentioning a nut allergy she was quick to provide information to adjust selections and ingredients. We left the restaurant two hours ago and are still talking Jess and the Sunset Grille.

Not thinking I needed a reservation on Sept 26th a Saturday evening, I want to thank the staff for accommodating me and my wife for dinner on the upper outdoor deck. It was our first time in that space. Social distancing guidelines were perfect as was the food. We visited OC MD late last year and sunset grill was closed that day, what a bummer that was.We always make sure we have a lunch special depending on our stay in OC during the week. Thanks again for the good food and nice views while dining. Thanks the Scribers

Sunset Grille is always the first restaurant I recommend when a vacationer asks. Never disappointed with service or food. Live music outside at Teasers overlooking the beautiful boats and the sunsets!
