I go here often for business lunches and the occasional dinner. The rice bowls are always a “go to” and always hit the spot. Sushi is also good and I occasionally get. Mr. B, the owner and staff are always nice and friendly.
We were seeking good luck Asian noodles for New Year’s Day and went with their Thai shrimp dish in a spicy peanut sauce. That was an excellent call! We also ordered fried, pork-filled dumplings, which were a tad on the heavy side (and too large...for our liking).
All in all, really glad we chose this establishment. I hope we have the good fortune to return!More
I’ve dined at Mr.B’s several times. Last night was the perfect date night dinner for two. We enjoyed spicy tuna rolls, pork fat buns, chicken pad Thai, spicy beef soup.. the service was incredible and dinner was perfect! Bursting with flavors and more than enough...portions for two! Love the color scheme picked out for the main dining room, so fresh and modern. I’ve always enjoyed my entrees at the Rice house, last night was top notch! Thank you Mr.B for a memorable experience with impeccable service and great food for the soul.More
If I could give 0 star, I would. If you are Asian, don't go here. Even though it's an Asian restaurant, Asians are not welcome. I wonder what kind of Asian food is served at an Asian restaurant that doesn’t welcome Asian people. The waitress...was extremely rude to us. We felt racially discriminated because she was nice and friendly to other non Asian customers in the restaurant.
When we were waiting to be seated, the waitress had to pass us twice since it was a narrow passage. The waitress didn’t say “excuse me”, did not greet us, didn't say a word, just looked at us with a disgusted face waiting for us to move out of the way. When it was time for us to be seated, she just put the menus on the table (didn’t say a word this time either). We waited at our table awhile but no one came to our table. I felt like we were completely ignored (pretty much the whole staff was like this). It was just unbelievable. This really ruined our vacation mood so we walked out to go to another restaurant. Service is such an important part of a restaurant, any business. This restaurant badly failed at that!!!More
Ocean City isn't exactly known for good ethnic cuisine. It is mostly straight ahead Maryland seafood or greasy fast food garbage. Rice House is a nice exception. Set in an unremarkable strip mall, the location belies some really solid pan-Asian food. The bao buns are...good, though I would stick to the pork as the ahi tuna was overcooked. Excellent soups are also available. I tried the carpaccio/sashimi combo and it was fresh and not over flavored. Recommended if you want to get away from crabs, fried seafood and greasy hamburgers.More
While we are blessed with many good places to eat here on the Eastern Shore, Asian food is sadly lacking. But the Rice House is an exception. Mr. B knows what he is doing. The schezuan beef is wonderful--tender and flavorful. The fried rice is...very good. He prepared us a raw tuna on rice appetizer with wasabi that was great. The atmosphere is nice too. It is a tad pricey, but if you want good Chinese (or sushi too) this is the best choice in the area.More
Ordered bean curd and vegetables. Asked whether bean curd was deep fried was told yes. It wasn’t. It was basically a packet of tofu quickly thrown in a wok with vegetables ( none cooked well enough) I. A sauce that was simply chopped garlic and...no other taste. I’ve never had such a tasteless meal.
My husband had pork noodles. The pork was tough and inedible. Again the veggies were undercooked.
We paid $30 and it went straight in the bin. Would have had a better experience from a supermarket packet noodle meal.
Vegetarians beware, everything is cooked with chicken broth. I am glad I clarified that I didn’t want meat or fish in it. Pity they seem unable to create tasty food without chicken broth.More
Looked for Asian food in the OC area and should of looked further The prices were ridiculous high But we said it may be worth it So we gave it a shot SECOND MISTAKE! The only item we enjoyed were the Spare ribs The rest...was terrible and portions small 👎Suggestion is to Try someplace else I very seldom give a negative rating but this place deserved oneMore
