We had plenty of ice cream, but also some nice meals. Basic, Americana menu. Sandwiches, sides, etc. All look very good. I had a chicken cheesesteak and my wife a salad, both were very good. There fries are pretty good, large order is easily split...with two. Most meals are that, a nice meal. So makes eating dessert a little hard. Same friendly and efficient staff. Clean restaurant. Reasonably priced. Always a go to consideration for us at lunch or dinner if we don't now what we are hungry for.More
So, I was in the mood for fried chicken on Sunday night after Thanksgiving. Read that Dumser's is supposed to have great fried chicken so I called and ordered carry-out. We got the 1/2 chicken platter and a BLT with fries plus butter pecan scoops...and vanilla whipped ice cream. While the ice cream was great, the dinner was only so,so.
The fried chicken was freshly fried but the pieces were very small, except for the wings. ( I asked for all white meat ). The breasts were small and dry with a sparse breading that had no taste. The BLT had 2 tiny tomato slices. The fries were good. Overall, go for the ice cream. The other food is edible, but not great.More
We were in town for the OC car show and pulled our hot rod into the lot. I loved that it's on the main drag and you could watch the traffic. LOTS of outdoor seating.
My marshmallow sundae (came w/ whipped cream & cherry) was...$5.11. A large is $7.00+. Yikes! It was creamy and very, very sweet . Husband's hard dipped cone was $4.00+. Both items were too large to finish.
We shocked to see chicken tenders were $12. A hamburger costs $8.00. High rent!More
Stopped in to grab dinner and dessert to take back to the hotel. Currently it’s all to go, ordered from the window. No inside dining. Staff was efficient and food came quickly. Got a BLT which had tons of bacon and small order of onion...rings came with more than i could eat. About $12 for the meal; not bad in comparison to other places at the beach. Root beer float was good, although ice cream seemed slightly higher priced than the food. COVID wise, they had signs to wear masks and dots on the floor. They did what they could. As other places in OC, not everyone follows the directive to wear masks.More
This place was nice because we could walk up to the window and order food outside and social distance. The food was good. Great French fries, salad and chicken tenders. The only problem is that the flies nearly ate us alive as we waited. People...could not enjoy the tables and chairs that they had set up outside. Not their fault but if they sprayed maybe that would help. Otherwise neat little food place.More
When we pulled into the parking lot, it looked like a mad house. Extremely overcrowded, no one had on masks, no lines to direct you to where to place your order and nothing to tell you where to pick up your order.
If my sister...wasn't hungry, I would have left. Overall, the food, service and value were good. I would go back here again when things settle down.More
Hubby and I enjoy a meal and the ice cream sundaes at Dumser's. I ordered the fried chicken meal and it was moist and delicious. HUbby had a burger and fries. We split the hot fudge sundae, it was delicious. Service was great and food...is always delicious here. I would go back again.More
We stopped to get some ice cream right after dinner. The place is like an old fashioned ice cream parlor and had a nice decor. We ordered a sweet n salty sundae that was a good size. The sundae was good but I thought the...prices where a bit high. Overall it was a satisfying experience.More
