Mother's Cantina, Ocean City

We took 14 hungry wrestlers coaches and parents here and had an outstanding meal the portions were huge and we were all very satisfied, mothers cantina is a must try. Thank you Mother’s Cantina

To Whom It May Concern, My wife and I just left here shocked, appalled, and angry. I understand there are some cases where the management is unaware of what is happening, so I am writing this to warn other diners and as a plea to...management. In sum we felt rushed, ignored, and a burden. A breakdown of what happened because there was so much: 1. We entered the restaurant at 2030 and the waitress sat us down and gave us menus. It was odd because there was no music and the waitstaff seemed preoccupied despite there being only a few tables and patrons in the bar. 2. She asked what we wanted to drink, she did not ask if we wanted to order anything. She left abruptly without asking if we had any questions on the menus, or if we had been there before. We ordered appetizers as she was walking away to another table while she was looking at other tables. She took our order mid-run away from the table. 3. She brought chips and salsa to the table but did not ask anything. Again we put in an order for fajitas as she hurriedly walked away not looking at us or asking any questions. She responded with "that is fine". 4. She delivered the food promptly, the queso was lukewarm and microwaved per the coagulated film of dried cheese on top. The guacamole was simply pureed avocado no tomatoes, onions, or seasoning. 5. She never came back to ask how everything was or if we were happy with our order. We had to flag her down after 20 min after she cleaned two other tables and asked for hot sauce. 6. While we were eating our appetizers she (Nina S from the ticket) was cleaning the other tables off, sweeping the floor, and talking to the other waitstaff about what she was going to eat that evening. Again, no music so we could hear the entire conversation. 7. We went without anyone checking in on us for 15 min, and we asked for more chips from the other waitress who was standing by the front on her phone. 8. Our dinner was delivered by someone in the kitchen. Again, no check-in to see if our food was ok or if we wanted another drink or anything by our waitress as she proceeded to clean loudly around us. They made quite a production of cleaning, sweeping the same spot repeatedly and making us feel unwelcome, ignored, and uninvited. 9. At 2100 as our waitress was making a loud and noticeable production of stacking chairs on tables, I asked to confirm the closing time. We were under the assumption the restaurant closed at 10 pm. Even though the restaurant seemed as if they were closing around us due to the constant sweeping. pulling up and placing of floor mats on tables, and placing the chairs on the tables. She replied the restaurant closes at 10 pm, but they are closing this side of the restaurant. 10. As my wife and I ate, the waitstaff continued their loud and exaggerated display of cleaning the restaurant and discussing their own dinner plans and what happened that day (again no music in the restaurant) in combination with checking their phones. 11. I asked for the check before we were done eating which she provided right away, and then went straight to playing on her phone. 12. My wife and I left feeling unwanted, unappreciated, and like a burden to the waitstaff. Again, I write this to inform you of our experience. We will not be going here again. We hope that there is some action to the waitstaff or a CHANGE to the business hours so that others will not be subjected to the horrible experience we had to endure. We had a fabulous meal here. Chips and salsa, pinto beans and rice were great. Order any entree with chorizo and you won’t be disappointed.

My husband and I love this place! We usually sit at the bar and visit multiple times during vacation for happy hour but because of covid, we made reservations for a table for dinner this time. I had their veggie goat cheese chimichanga which was...AMAZING. I was in heaven and thought it couldn't get any better - but then I had the fried chocolate cheesecake. How does something this delicious even exist??? I want to eat it every day! We are never disappointed when we stop at Mother's and this visit was no exception. Amazeballs.More

Average at best. My wife found this place on line and it is close to where we were staying so we went. Menu was a little different than what was on line but nothing big. Service was ok we were seated quickly and they plopped...our napkins, silverware and menus down. After a bit came back and took our drink order. Draft beer was cool but could have been colder. A few more minutes passed and they took our food order. Waiter was pleasant but when I hear "excellent choice" after each item ordered I start to wonder. Another few minutes passed and someone hurried by and plopped down chips and salsa. Nothing special about either, but the salsa was homemade. More time passed maybe 7 to 10 minutes and our food arrived. I got the Inferno Burrito made with chicken, my wife got the pork shank and roasted broccoli. The burrito was ok but for me it could have used more heat as i love spicy food. My wife's pork was also ok but looked gray to me not browned. Could be because she ordered the Thai chili sauce on the side. All in all everything was just terribly AVERAGE.More

Typically I love Mother's, even though it's not authentic Mexican. This time it was just "meh". The order was picked up at the designated time, but was cold. They also forgot the inferno sauce. I'll be trying someplace else next time.
