I always stop by here when traveling. The patio Is amazing out by the lake, but atmosphere inside is nice too. Pizzas are phenomenal, and spaghetti and meatball is consistently good. The skillet brownie with ice cream will make your day it is huge. But I also enjoy the creme brulee for something light, haha. All and all I always... More

A group of us reserved a table for 10 and 3 were not able to make it, but we suffered through their absence and had a great meal. A few appetizers, a meal a piece, and a lot of great conversation later and we were happy to have been at the Tomato Palace again.

The Tomato Palace is very good, but pricey. They are owned by Clyde's - same restaurant, as I went to make reservations over the holidays for Clyde's and they were booked, but sent me over to the Tomato Palace, stating this is where the overflow went. The food and ambience were very nice.

Given the name and the cartoonish mural on the wall, I thought I was entering a cheap eats establishment, but instead was treated to an upscale experience in terms of service and quality of food. Both the host at the door and my waiter were first class, and my meal - market salad and rigatoni & sausage - was outstanding.... More

Called to order carry-out for dinner, lasagna and spaghetti with meatballs. Order was available exactly in the timeframe provided. Only a couple minor issues. The meat balls (4) were generously sized but the amount of pasta was adequate but a little on the skimpy side. My overall comment is that both orders seemed to be more salty than necessary considering... More

My wife and I had another fantastic lunch at the Tomato Palace at just a shave over $20. A bowl of soup, Chicken Rigatoni/Extra Garlic for me, and Polenta and Meatballs for my wife. Yummy!

I'm from the part of NJ that has solid pizza but not absolutely amazing. I was afraid to get pizza in MD, and I've had rough experiences with Italian food in MD in the past. I have to say, my seafood pizza at Tomato Palace was amazing. For the price, it was bigger than I expected. It had a nice... More

LOVE their pizza. Good entries too. The service is very good. Prices are very reasonable, make the place more appealing too. We go there on a semi regular basis. It's never packed, so no wait is necessary, another good pt.

This is one of those restaurants I wish I could rate with a 3.5. The service is friendly but usually slow. The food is generally good but never really very good. On a nice day eating outside is very pleasant. The food is a good value, especially a lunch special at $9.95 that includes a salad and lunch sized pizza... More

Exceeded expectations. Wonderful brick oven pizzas and salads in an extremely nice setting. We notice things like the woodwork in a restaurant. Lovely. Only wish we had not split a Caesar. Could have enjoyed my very own. We ordered the calamari - it was grilled with a sauce and terrific. Can't stand fried calamari, so this was a treat. My... More

Description
The Tomato Palace, opened in 1993, is the family-style Italian restaurant adjacent to Clyde's of Columbia on Lake Kittamaqundi. The popular menu is affordably priced and includes pizza, pasta dishes and salads. The atmosphere is casual and fun, with colorful graphics enlivening the walls and menus. Seating is ample for families; and the whimsical tomato chairs by furniture maker Peter Danko are always a favorite. In warm weather there are 50 seats beneath the arbor for outdoor dining by the lake
