Having a yen for seafood while in Chesapeake City my husband, daughter and son-in-law headed to The Taproom. We originally thought of crabs but opted for fried oysters and crab cakes which came accompanied with bay fries and Cole slaw. Good choices since crabs weren't...More

Call ahead if you're interested in crabs and ask for what sizes. We called and they had large crabs from Texas. Upon arriving, sat in the bar area. Smell was great. Crabs steamed and coated with seasoning. Order the fries as well and begin the...More

I've been back to the Taproom a few times recently and have found the place to be a relaxed environment with pretty good food. Service was good and prices reasonable. The clientele is friendly.

We stopped in Chesapeake City while delivering a yacht to upstate New York at the Chesapeake Inn Restaurant and Marina. The restaurant connected to the marina has an upscale eatery upstairs and a deck along the water serving lighter menu selections. We were not impressed...More

I would give the Tap Room a ZERO if it was possible. I live in the area and this was my first visit to the Tap Room on a Sunday following an afternoon walk along the C&D Canal. The food was very meh but the...More

Recently stopped into The Tap Room for some crabs. We ordered a dozen of the #2's, a 1/2 lb of the steamed shrimp and an order of fries to split between my gf and myself. The shrimp were very large and perfectly done. Fries were...More

Been coming here for many years. Never had a bad experience. We always get a pitcher of mud slides, at least a dozen crabs, an order of fries and slaw. One time we got a few crabs that weren't right. Our waitress kept throwing the...More

We were in town for an event and looking for some local fare. We stepped in to the Tap Room to view the menu and we were "hooked"! The restaurant was filled with locals and visitors. The atmosphere was pure fun with paper tablecloths and...More

This is a very casual place and the only place in town where you can sit down to eat steamed crabs. We ordered steamed crabs for lunch. They were small and not very meaty. I probably would not go back again. Service was just OK.

Informal restaurant/bar setting. Lots of local feeling! The servers were very friendly and pleasantly conversational. The service was fast and friendly. Our meals were fabulous - both of us had local seafood: lobster, mussels, shrimp, and scallops which were all delicious! The prices were extremely...More

Absolutely, they're completely kid friendly. My daughter has been eating there since she was a toddler. The Tap Room is a full service restaurant. Children are fine, they just can not sit at the bar (per MD law).
