. . . but today, I've opted for Steak Frites. I come here once a month when I'm home and I'm always satisfied with the food. Music is a bit too loud for my taste but what else is new; that's the case almost everywhere these days.

Mussels prepared lots of different ways, the two ways we had them were both very tasty. They have a really nice selection of beers including Belgian Lambics. It's a nice casual place. Great to go with family or a group of friends. The only issue I had was that it's a lively, noisy crowd, so it can be a little... More

A warm evening out for dinner, but not a typical dinner outing. We decided to hop from one restaurant to the next...& to order only our favorites' appetizers. So here we were at one of the best place for mussels in Bethesda! A pan order of the white wine & garlic mussels along with a side of their classic frites.... More

Was informed that they have a new chef manning the kitchen. Must be well-trained because the food was excellent: the pear salad and the sea bass were just seasoned perfectly. The bass, especially, had a wonderful, crispy skin and the flesh was moist and ever so fresh-tasting. Wish I could cook fish this well. The one sour note is that... More

I went alone well actually I was stood up but since i was there I decided to make a go of it. had the wood fired pizza & truffle fries... the Fries was nearly burnt & yes I ate it... I should have complained but I was already thrown off by being stood up at the last minute. Only one... More

The oysters were fresh and very flavorful. The classic mussels in white wine snd garlic broth were tender and tasty. Track of lamb, broiled sea bass, carbonnade, all excellent. And a wonderful beer and wine list. Definitely an exceptional restaurant

My wife and I live nearby downtown Bethesda and, when we dine out, visit Mussel Bar perhaps five or six times a year. The food is generally quite good. The mussels are always tasty and the other items on the menu are, too. Last evening I had one of the pizzas, which was very good. We also had the gravlax... More

This was the first visit here for two of the three of us and we definitely will be back! The food was delicious. We shared a full pot of the Mussels in White Wine Roasted Garlic, Cream, Lemon, Parsley, an order of fries and the Kennett Square Pizza with Mushrooms Smoked Bacon, Mozzarella, Caramelized Onion, Truffle Béchamel. These two dishes... More

We were able to sit outside on the sidewalk and enjoy a balmy evening. The service was very good, our waitress Roxy was very knowledgeable on the tens of beer selections. She was accommodating, facilitating sharing of both beers and various dishes that we ordered. Notable and refreshing: she was not trying to push us to order more. We enjoyed... More

Mussels really didn't have any flavour & were debearded at seldom. Sweet potato fries were charred. The waitress didn't know much about the beer selection nor was she able to come up with a solution of connecting 2 tables together to provide more space for the large dishes she brought. The only good thing about this place is the large... More
