We went as a family ( 4 of us) to try this restaurant. Our son who lives in Bethesda had been before and recommended it. We all had different food and each meal was excellent. There were different meats, different levels of spice in each meal and all the food was very tasty and well cooked. We will certainly be... More

Had a great feed here. There were 6 folk, a business meeting. There was a diverse menu - plenty of vegetarian options - good service. We had a bottle of red which wasn't too bad. Prices seemed OK, not cheap but not bad. Overall a good experience. Quiet so easy to speak. The Indian music they did have wasn't intrusive.

As locals, we keep coming back here because we know that we can expect good service and management. We like to explore different Indian cuisines, and this place allows us to travel east, north, south or west. We've lived in Bangladesh, and can vouch for the east cuisine here as authentic. We've traveled to Northern India and feel that the... More

We ordered the garlic naan, the salmon and shalgam goat.. The goat was bone-in so the flavor was extremely fragrant. The salmon was crunchy on the outside and soft well cooked on the inside.. Better than what I could have done at home infused with flavors.. The garlic naan was as good as I remember.. The service was excellent.. A... More

We have been to several Indian restaurants in the Bethesda area. For a sit down dining experience, this was our fave. The ambiance was nice. We took our 3 small kids under the age of 10. They did pretty well. A little loud for the environment. Service was prompt. We were well watered and looked after. My kids loved the... More

Restaurant offers food from different regions of India for diners looking for more than the usual Punjabi dishes available in most Indian restaurants. Pleasant ambience, surprisingly off hand service at dinner. Would go back to explore the variety of regional dishes offered.

You will like the food here as long as you like Indian food as they cook everything that we tried real well. My friends ordered a lamb appetizer which they raved about. Anything chicken here was as tender as can be. So quite simply the price is right for the higher quality. I thought that their appetizers were generous but... More

First time here, loved it!! Great staff, nice dining room, terrific food - a true geographic "walk" around India. Can't wait to go back. Every dish looked fantastic. We chose the sampler dishes which were perfect for us - plenty of selection and good for one, not too worry!

We've been to this restaurant several times over the years but not recently. As before the atmosphere was pleasant, the service perfectly good but the dishes were bland, blander that we remember them being. Being English we've had many Indian meals and here lies the secret. We discussed the lack of spice with the management and they said that in... More

Description
Passage to India brings the so far unheard of regional Indian specialties to this city. Passage to India is beyond just an Indian restaurant - the dishes you eat are traditional recipes that have been handed down from generation to generation in kitchens - both, royal and domestic. The kitchen prepares all food to order thereby preserving the aromas of freshly ground spices and herbs. Having worked professionally for world class hotels in India, Chef Sudhir Seth brings a rich knowledge of dishes and recipes to fore.
