This is not fine dining, but a good basic eatery great for a quick lunch or dinner. They have a good selection of beers including a very nice wheat beer (mischief) - enjoyed very much! The food was good if nothing special. The best thing was Charlie our server, who guided us through the menu and brought several samples of... More

Rock Bottom Brewery (RBB) is the type of place you want to make your regular hang-out for a light night beer and finger food. Yet, RBB is also fun for dinner with friends and lunch. The real draw at RBB, however, is the beer. There are always several styles available, and, to try them all, you will likely have to... More

Beer was OK if a bit too sweet for my taste. Food was OK, steak was quite fatty, sauce was very sweet. Service was fast for some of the group with one or two people waiting for some minutes for a beer order or a food order. OK could do better.

Disclaimer - I don't like beer. Maybe if I did, I would give a better review. They brew their own, and always have plenty of selections on tap. The food is typical bar/pub food - pretzels, burgers, nachos, pizza, sandwiches,... No amazing dishes to recommend. It's just typical bar food. The last couple of times that I have gone there... The Beer her was great I had the Pilsner which was dark and my friend had the red which was equally delicious. The burgers were second to none and the atmosphere was pure sports bar. It had the homey feel of a local pub combined with Americana sports bar. Just the place to go if your really hungry or want... More

The local beer on tap is great! The food reminded me of chain restaurants; nothing special, really salty. The restaurant is huge, it's kind of cool that they brew on the premises. They have two pool tables upstairs.

Before going to see Beauty and the Beast with my two grandchildren at the Imagination Stage around the corner, we stopped in at Rock Bottom Brewery for lunch. It was a bitter cold, very windy day, so the warmth of the restaurant was especially welcome. RBB has an enormous selection of craft beers, and the Belgian I picked was very... More

Rock Bottom has been our go-to place for years: good service and good food. When out of area folks ask us for a good place to get a bite, we typically recommend it for families who want good service and simple, tasty meals. Clearly, something is amiss. Yesterday, my husband and I hosted a small family happy hour in the... More

The house brews are decent and cheaply priced during happy hour. Otherwise average food. The pretzels are good and pair well with the beer. Nothing else stands out. They used to have pool tables upstairs. They might still be there.

We were a group of friends and asked a lot of different plates and then shared and it was everything good. Plus a variety of beers is offered and service is fine. It is not cheap but quality is very very good

Description
Rock Bottom Bethesda is five miles north of DC, just off Wisconsin Avenue at the corner of Norfolk Ave and St. Elmo Ave. Yes, it's a lot of Avenues, but we're totally worth it. Just wait until you take your first sip of an award-winning, handcrafted ale from Brewmaster Geoffrey S. Lively. Not only does the beer speak for itself, but he started at Mile High Brewing...that's right, the Laverne & Shirley brewery. Possibly the best credential ever. And hey, don't forget to check out our recently refreshed menu of made-from-scratch entrees, appetizers, dinner salads, burgers and sandwiches.
