Didn't have a reservation so went to the bar which has highly uncomfortable squared of small seats. I hope they replace these soon. Had a fabulous rabbit dish, and started off our meal with the bacon wrapped dates! Very delicious but we were surprised by the breading on them as it is really unnecessary. The best two dishes were the... More

This place has an engaging atmosphere, great food/wine and it's perfect for seating outside in good weather. Service is attentive and efficient. The tapas menu is varied and authentic like any other Jose Andres restaurant. My favorites are the cheeses (Manchego Pasamontes), meats and embutidos (Chorizo y Jamon Iberico). There is also a great value experience - The Classic Tastings,... More

My wife and I tried five things. 1.Moorish stew with spinach and chicpeas. It was excellent. Would order again. 2.Ibeico pork tenderloin with blue cheese sauce. It was excellent but pricey. Even for the price(20 dollars for 6 or seven bites) I would order it again. 3.Their famous shrimp dish, It too was very good and I would order it... More

Tapas indeed. The restaurant was very full for dinner and had to wait even though we had reservations. Nonetheless it was worth the wait, try anything with caviar on it, we also had some amazing olives that were liquified. Definitely recommend.

I went mid-afternoon on a Monday. They offer Happy Hour specials all day on Mondays. I first ordered the croquetas special, which is two chicken and two ham croquettes. They were tasty but I would have liked something to dip them in. Next, I got the Spanish mini-burger, also a special. It was tasty. Next was the bread smeared with... More

I used to frequent Jaleo, the tapas restaurant, in Bethesda and recently returned with a friend for some late night dinner, convincing her that this was a good place to eat. The location is close to a parking garage, the interior of the restaurant is beautiful, the bar area is very nice, but there the wonderfulness ended. Former visits let... More

After a minor snafu with our reservation by the front desk, we settled in for an enjoyable dinner. Katina was an excellent server. I liked their new tomato topped bread, but my wife preferred the traditional with garlic olive oil. They were featuring clementines in several dishes. We had the seared octopus with clementines and artichokes, ham fritters, bacon covered... More

My friends and I came here for lunch when in town for the Thanksgiving holiday. I didn't have high expectations because I had been to the DC location and wasn't that impressed, but it was the only restaurant where we could make a reservation for 10 people so we took a chance. I was pleasantly surprised! I got a sangira... More

This is THE place for Tapas in the DC area, and belongs to the Jose Andres restaurant empire. However, the new place just a few blocks away has a smaller but more interesting menu, in my opinion. Jaleo is fine, I've never had bad food there, but it never wows me.
