Even though the restaurant was not that crowded since we went around 5:00 PM, the waitress rushed us out. The soup and salad were served together, even though we explicitly asked that they be served separately. The food was very ho hum, especially considering the...price. Everything tasted like it was zapped in the microwave without any thought to taste or presentation. We will not be returning.More

My husband and I have been dining at this spot for 40 years; initially Lord’s until it was taken over as Hobb’s. It is a beautiful location with superb views and we have always been happy with the service. Today we were disappointed with a...meal we have ordered many times over the past few years. The lazy stuffed lobster is supposed to have the meat of a 1 1/4 pound lobster and I believe it used to but today there was less lobster meat than usual. We each chose roasted redskin potatoes and a mixture of summer squash and zucchini. Both were overcooked and mushy. We dined early at 3:00 and I’m thinking they will be serving those mushy vegetables all evening. I know prices are up everywhere but for a market price of $39.00 this meal was definitely not worth it!!More

The harbor views are beautiful, the food is average at most, and the service is outstanding. There was a long wait so we sat at one of the high tops in the bar area.

We live in Maine where there are many seafood restaurants. This was the first time at Hobbs Harborside. We were seated at one of the best tables with water views on 2 sides. Our waitress was a very nice young woman ( Lily) who did...her best. It wasn't her fault that they were out of 2 of the beers ordered. It wasn't her fault that the kitchen messed up part of the food order ( the manager came out to apologize for that). The food was terrible. 2 of us had baked haddock. It smelled very fishy and was obviously not fresh. The topping on the fish was OK, but they had also put a layer of crumbs under the fish which turned into a soggy, unappetizing mess. Accompanying the fish were roasted whole red potatoes and whole green beans. I ate one potato, which was fine, but the second one tasted like dirt, indicating it had not been properly washed. The green beans were old and tough. Will not be going back.More

Been here several times. The lobster was great as was the view, the service excellent, overall the food was plentiful and tasty, well-prepared, too. DH had the fisherman's platter which he declared very good, my lobster was delicious, the sides of fries and cole slaw...were excellent. Other sides are available but we decided to stick with the basics having been disappointed with the vegs in the past. FYI, the fries were nice and crispy, cooked to order, not grabbed from under a heat-lamp. In the past, we were disappointed with the heavy-handed use of bread crumbs on the broiled scallops, etc, The bread crumbs having absorbed all the moisture. This time I wasn't taking any chance : lobster for me! Good choice. What more can I say? ! We'll be back.More

Found this restaurant last summer and it was wonderful. First trip of the season decided to have lunch here. My husbands lobster was great. the fried food was awful! the shrimp were so tiny you could barely see them, of course there had to be...ten of them on the plate. AND i did call and ask if they were baby shrimp and the man who answered said no.... scallops were burned, clams so tiny and scorched. horrible horrible. we did send them back and were given fresher scallops and clams ( which were still tiny) but why try to serve a customer that awful food?? our waitress was great and tried to make an excuse (new cook) guess he better learn how to cook or they will definitely see a decline in customers. not coming back anytime soon.More

We have always received excellent service and food at Hobb’s. We live in the area and are there frequently for both food and drinks. Anytime we have had special requests for the kitchen we have always been accommodated promptly and courteously. We have never needed...to send food back or ask for it to be replaced and the management will always make things right if asked and takes customer satisfaction seriously. You don’t stay in business in a seasonal restaurant here on the coast if you don’t or your food doesn’t measure up.More

We had a great time.the food tasted light and fresh. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. We sat in the dining room with a great view, but the bar was having a great time as well. I recommend the lobster cakes are to die for.

We went for a birthday celebration so it was a large party but we're seated very quickly. The waitress was great, very attentive, and a great personality. Appetizers were great, loved the best battered shrimp and the coconut shrimp. I had the small North Atlantic...Haddock, it was a generous portion and so good. We will definitely be going back soon. Thanks Hobbs for great meal and a great view.More

I got the broiled scallops with rice pilaf and carrots. The scallops arrived sitting in a pool of liquid, had no color on them and looked as if they had been boiled. They were small in size and over cooked. They arrived extremely hot while...the rice and carrots were cold. My husband got the baked stuffed haddock. It was dry and stuck to the bottom of the metal serving dish. the crumb mixture on top was dry with no hint of butter. We both got the feeling that our food had been previously cooked and then re-heated; one, because it arrived so quickly and two, because of how it tasted. We will not be going back.More

One person ordered Baked Stuffed haddock and got just baked haddock. Clam chowder was mostly water. Yuk!!! I ordered the nights special, Prime Rib with baked potato and carrots. The rime rib was served cold. Yup, COLD. The carrots looked shriveled up from yesterday. Just...horrible. They did comp the haddock. I did not send the Prime Rib back, you never know what happens then, if you get my meaning. The bad part is: we live in Wells year round, and I can tell you this, my shadow will never cross their threshold again. Worst meal there ever. My grand daughter ordered Chicken cordon Bleu. It looked like a black pile of God knows what. Burnt. Good by Hobb's !!More

The amount of staff was impressive. The tree we’re giving was very welcoming. Lots of fresh seafood. I chose Baked Haddock ($27) with broccoli and coleslaw. Every bit was delicious. We were lucky to sit at a table looking over the waterway. Pretty view through...wide windows. Service was perfect. I can only imagine this place is packed solid all summer. I’d be surprised if it wasn’t.More

Nice place, on the water. Beautiful scenery and the food is great. We come here 2 or 3 times a year and travel a long ways from NH to get here.

Place is crowded and for a good reason, great food and service. They move you right along and the wait isn't bad. Have to try the Beer battered shrimp appetizer.

Not crazy at all! I happily ate at the bar. As for Coors light....this martini girls left her Coors loving DH behind so can't say about the beer.
