While staying in Ogunquit, several of the locals told me that the finest restaurant between Ogunquit and Kennebunkport was Joshua's, and not to be missed. As I was traveling alone, I still came to an overcrowded parking lot, as its reputation was certainly well deserved,...but was able to find a seat at the bar for dinner without too much of a wait. Otherwise, be sure you get your reservations well in advance. As lobster has exploded in price in our current environment, I stuck to other seafood fare that was a bit more affordable, such as scallops and shrimp, and was not disappointed. My bartender was friendly and attentive, and so my meal was every bit as good as I had heard it would be. Highly recommended!More

We had an amazing dining experience that really stood out on our trip. We love fine dining and this dinner was the least 'fancy' we booked and the most enjoyed. Our waitress was phenomenal which only added to our delightful experience. We could come back...time and time again if we could!More

Food and service were both exceptional. Everything is homemade - bread, desserts (even the ice creams). As Heather our waitress told us, nothing comes out of a can or jar. You will not be disappointed.

I wanted to go to this place to celebrate our 31 wedding anniversary. I called a month before our trip and they were booked through Oct, but put my name on a waiting list. the night before they called and could get us in at...5:30. They have a farm 6 miles away that gives them their awesome food. We were seated after a 5 min wait. We ordered our drinks from the friendly waitress and they our wedding song that we walked up the aisle to came on the radio. Wow. I asked my husband if he paid to have this happen and he said no God did it. Our food was awesome. I had duck pate and duck breast. My source had fish and fish. the desert was pear cake with caramel sauce and home made maple syrup ice cream. Still dreaming of that today.More

This is not our first time having dinner at Joshua’s and it will not be our last. Jenny greeted us warmly and showed us to our table. Like many other restaurants, Joshua’s has had staffing difficulty. In order to maintain their high level of food...and service, they decided to book fewer tables. It allows for a more socially distanced dining experience. Our server Andrea introduced herself, took our drink order and explained today’s specials. Andrea was personable and professional. The homemade bread basket was, as usual, delicious. Every dish we had was cooked to perfection, well seasoned and well presented. From the wine and cosmos to the salads to the baked haddock, vegetarian dish, stuffed chicken breast, pork tenderloin and carefully matched side dishes…….each of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Our only complaint was that we did not leave room for dessert, especially for one of the house made ice cream pairings. Joshua’s is clearly an enjoyable and satisfying dining experience. Maybe a little more expensive than some of the other local choices but clearly worth it. We usually stay in Ogunquit but always make our way a few miles up Post Road to one of our favorites and will certainly do so again on our next trip.More

If you have survived a pandemic and still need a white tablecloth to enjoy yourselves and get soaked, this place is for you. Food mediocre and over priced. Service sullen and snarky. Avoid.

We have been going to Maine for many years , we always go to Joshua's for one meal. Have always been very happy. My wife and I often get the Haddock, never been disappointed. Last time was September of last year. We both had the...Haddock,when our plates came, breadcrumbs on top of the fish were burned and I mean black. Our server noticed how we looked at our meal, told her it was burned, she told me it was always dark like that. She thought it was probably our first time here, I told her we had been here many times and it was never like this. She comes back with the lady who worked the front desk, gave us the same story's if we were stupid and offered us a dessert. Are you kidding, the meal is burned , don't offer to cook it again but offer a dessert. My wife barely touched it, I was hungry so I had some. The fish had a burned taste to it. gave us the full bill, on our way out, the lady says to us ' I hope you will give us another chance. No lady, you had your chance. I am sure that if we went back , the meal would be fine , but , NO. . I have always felt that the time you find out how great a restaurant is,it's when there is a problem and how they handle it . Obviously we were not regulars at their restaurant so we were not worth replacing burned food. By the way, we turned down the one dessert we were offered to share.More

My wife and I had an exemplary dining experience last evening at Joshua's. Due to a shortage of staff, the restaurant is operating at less than half capacity. We were lucky to be able to score a reservation when we called more than two weeks...ago. We were warmly greeted at the door by one of the owners. Heather, our server, was exceptional and added much to the pleasure of the experience. She was attentive and efficient without being overbearing. Her smile was infectious. Heather was very knowledgeable about the menu items and about the restaurant itself, offering us interesting tidbits of information over the course of the evening. Oh yes, the food!! Gormet and exceptional do not adequately describe the delicious appetizer and entrees. My wife savored the Vegetarian, while I relished the delectable Swordfish dish. The fresh vegetable medley could have been an entree in itself! The restaurant is not inexpensive, but it's a treat well worth the cost.!More

We try to dine at Joshua's during our yearly birdwatching trips to Maine since the experience has always been 5 star plus. Our 2021 experience was 6 starts if that was possible - simply OUTSTANDING! The server had in depth understanding of the menu choices...including how they were prepared. Service was crisp but not rushed - perfect. As usual the house made breads before our choices were wonderful as was our wine choice from a great and not expensive wine list. Two of us had salad specials as 1st courses which proved to be likely the best salads we've ever enjoyed, likely the result of owner grown ingredients. Three of us had a halibut special the 4th a beef filet. Each entre was perfect. We then shared some homemade ice cream for dessert. A wonderful dining experience - DON'T miss it.More

We dined at Joshua’s restaurant in Wells, Maine after a friends very passionate recommendation. I called for a reservation and left a voicemail and The Owner of the establishment called back to confirm our time. As we entered , Barbara, the person who I spoke...with earlier greeted us warmly. The building is a 230 year old farmhouse that has been completely restored and renovated. It is warm, simple and inviting. The room we dined in was bright with natural light and it was spotlessly clean. We were taken care of by Savannah, our server who was prompt, courteous and knowledgeable. The home baked bread which is created there is to die for. Three different varieties were served. We chose seafood for our entrees, grilled red snapper and Atlantic salmon. It was served with a fluffy white rice and various vegetables and light sauce presented as you would see in pictures from a five star restaurant. For desert we had the vanilla creme brûlée which was also made from scratch. It was over and above the same desert we enjoyed in Paris on many visits. For an unforgettable dining experience in Southern Maine please give Joshua’s a try. You will return over and over again as we plan to.More

I've never seen anything but their lobster pie on the menu, but that is a frequent special. Seriously, if you want their best dish, it's the onion crusted haddock.
