We at dinner at XYZ. Not your average TexMex offerings. Authentic Mexican food prepared very well. Margaritas were excellent. Good service. In a bit of a quirky location up a gravel road, but a very nice find.
XYZ is a find--authentic Mexican cuisine hidden in the woods on an island in Maine. When you walk in the door, you feel like you've entered another world of colors and music and delicious food. I love the cold avocado soup. It is refreshing and...More
The avocado soup was excellent. A bit of heat.. But it was all green.. A lime peel curl or a dollop of whipped cream would have enhanced the presentation greatly. I wish there were alternatives to black beans and plain white rice, neither are my...More
It is certainly worth leaving the beaten path to find this restaurant, for some really good Mexican food. The starters we tried were very good--the queso fundido w/ chorizo and the spicy pepper strips in cream were very good, and the shrimp cocktail with avocado...More
Some of us loved it, some were horrified. The restaurant wasn't at fault and they tried their best to accommodate the non-spice eaters in our party, without success. The beef dishes were amazing, the appetizers great. Could take a pass on the oxtail next time...More

Depending on what how you lean, you'll either like this place a lot or just find it okay. The queso fundido, for example, is mostly chorizo, not mostly cheese. So if you like that, you'll love the queso fundido. Really nice presentation of dishes. A...More
ah the queso fundido, our most popular appetizer for 23 years, We make 50 lbs of chorizo every week. While yes it is true that in Mexico, queso fundido is about the cheese one should also bear in mind that the cheese available here in the...More
Food was wonderful! Drinks Fantastic! Service was Fabulous! One thing to remember, this is Yucatan, not Tex Mex. Don't expect Salsa and Chips, but do expect a great margarita! You need reservations.
This is a must go place to go when I have some time in SW Harbor. Been around forever and the owner really gets what she tries to do there right. Not a huge menu but that's OK because there is still a lot of...More
