We walked in late Sunday morning for brunch. Waited about 5 minutes for a table. Our service was great, meal was served quickly after ordering. The food was well seasoned and served plenty hot. Will certainly go back.

Three of us went for breakfast. There was a 45 minute wait at 10 a.m., but after we got in the food and the service was great. Lots of specials. Bloody Marys were very good. Casual atmosphere with tables relatively close together, but comfortable.

Coffee was good and service so so but the food was so bland and very expensive. Nothing was seasoned. My food was ice cold. Go somewhere else.

We waited for a table for about 30 minutes mid- morning on a Sunday. It was worth the wait! We couldn't decide what to order so we shared the ricotta fritters, the "legs and eggs", the corned beef hash and the fall scramble. The variations on the Bloody Marys were many - I had the Bloody Bloke made with gin... More

This was my 3rd visit to Local 188 in 3 months. We had a long wait (35-45 minutes) seeing it was 7pm on a Saturday but walked around town a bit to kill time! We were quite hungry & ordered several delicious appetizers: scallops, Thai chicken skewers & sweet potato gnocchi. Even though the place was extremely busy, our food... More

In a city with so many highly rated restaurants, seafood or otherwise, this establishment near where we were staying almost escaped our notice. However, we decided to try it after seeing it was quite busy at 6:00 on a weeknight. We didn't have a reservation and were offered a seat at the bar, but decided to wait for a table.... More

We visited Local 188 on a Thursday evening at @ 6pm. It's a very large place and it was quite full for a weekday. We chose to sit at the kitchen bar and were seated promptly. They have a nice selection of craft beer as most restaurants in Portland do, so we ordered a Maine Beer Company "Lunch" while we... More

I only ate here once, and it was for breakfast. I was actually wanting to go to Hot Suppa, down the street, but there was such a long wait there, I came here instead. There was no wait, as this is a fairly large restaurant. I ordered the biscuits and gravy which came with two eggs. They served it in... More

Need an inexpensive brunch breakfast before heading to the Homer Studio. Walked around Portland & came upon Local 188. Cool, eclectic place - would be a good place to go with a group of friends - mismatched furniture, china, seating. But, this time I was alone and the got a seat at the counter with a view of the kitchen.... More
