Off the beaten path in western downtown Portland, the food is worth the trip to this quiet place. Terrific chef with imaginative combinations. Nice wine list. Not too expensive. Will certainly return.

I moved to Portland from NYC and SF -- both of which are proud of their food cultures, and was floored by the quality of this restaurant. The menu changes, and it was evident that the ingredients were fresh. I had the pork belly, which melted at first bite and continued to wow to the last bite. Will definitely return!

This is a lovely little spot in West End. Small plates and a solid wine list were a great fit for me as I was traveling solo on business. The food was delicious and my server was helpful and friiendly. I look forward to a return visit.

We were staying at at B&B close by. This is a great little neighborhood bistro. Small and intimate, only about 10 tables in the front. Small bar, friendly service. We did not have a reservation so had a drink at the bar. The hostess came to get us and took us through the kitchen to another room in the back.... More

The local 'Maine oysters were very good. The service was efficient and friendly. The quality of the produce is excellent but the execution needs a bit of work in seasoning, I don't mean adding more salt, just adding herbs and spices to food rather than just salt. Despite that, our three cheese penne and a Maine Angus burger were devoured... More

Our B&B host recommended this restaurant as it was close--but Caiola's was a very pleasant surprise and way exceeded our expectations. The cosmo martini was one of the best--and the fried polenta sticks appetizer and seafood medley and mutton meatloaf dinners were excellent and all reasonably priced. We just regret we didn't go back for the second evening of our... More

Went for dinner and drinks with a friend last night for a birthday celebration. We took our seats at the bar. For a Tuesday night, it was busy. My friend ordered the cilantro martini and I had the chocolate martini(not quite sure of the name) but it was really good, so good, I had two. We had the salad, bruschetta,... More

What took me so long to discover this wonderful Portland bistro? Caiola's has it all, from varied and superbly presented appetizers to entrees that run the gamut from Mutton Meatloaf, pan-seared Coho Salmon, Paella as well as pasta dishes and steak. Our party enjoyed every bite. The wine list was diverse and well priced. This place is a great find... More

What a wonderful and delicious experience. We were taken there by a friend who lives nearby and we loved the local flair. The food was fabulous with attentive service. Sure wish we lived closer as this would be our go to restaurant.
