Worst meal I have had in years!!! Mushroom app is salty, sloppy, we had to ask for bread to even try to eat it. Blue cheese toast, messy, scallops, 3 medium sized for $13, tasted fishy, mussels were the worst, in water, no broth, no flavor. Food is slow, staff show no teamwork, several times servers walked past our table... More

The Blue Spoon is located just up the street from the Eastern Promenade. The food quality is outstanding. Service is very professional. The Owner is extremely personable and enjoys interacting with his clients. Parking is on the street and is at a premium near the restaurant. I've walked by this place many a time and finally decided it was time to check it out! Reservations are recommended, as there is a small seating area, including 3 outdoor tables in front. Be aware ahead of time that the indoor space is *very* cozy which is why I was grateful for a beautiful summer evening to enjoy less... More

Was visiting Portland, a friend just off Congress street who just moved in. We walked around the corner from their residence and had a wonderful dining experience outside under the stars. Wait staff is very informative and polished. We had creamed mushrooms and seared scallops with turnips for starters. We had fresh pasta pork shoulder ragout and the ribeye steak... More

A friend and I went for lunch. Friendly greeting by staff. We were both drawn to the fish stew which I'd had in the past (3 yrs ago). It was very tasty with fish and mussels and a couple of baguette slices to help soak up the delicious tomato based broth. We were given more baguette slices and olive oil.... More

Stopped in here for a quick lunch as it was near the area of town we were in and was reported to be celiac-friendly. Overall, this was a fine meal but nothing too outstanding. The celiac member of our party had plenty of options and an enjoyable meal, so it's definitely good for gluten free and overall provides reasonable value... More

Either the small plates or the large but not both. Go for the simplest. Blue spoon is clearly skilled but maybe less could be more. Portland is getting competitive! Finding a huge range of ingredients to include in a dish is interesting but the effort is often obscured

I enjoy Blue Spoon any time I go but I particularly love brunch on Saturdays. Everything from yogurt and fresh fruit to risotto to the pork belly hash (my favorite) hits the spot. Its really my favorite neighborhood spot up on Munjoy Hill. I met a friend there recently and as always, the service was great, the food was delicious... More

Wonderful selection of delectable appetizers...simple yet savory. Risotto made like the old country. Cozy atmosphere and a convivial staff make this one of my favorites in a city of great restaurants.
