Visited on a Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 and only waited 5 minutes for three seats at the bar. Service within a minute. Drinks and food arrived quickly. Clam chowder more broth than creamy but wowed in the flavor department. Those clams had to be alive an hour ago. Freshly made Potato chips rocked. My fried chicken bun with cole slaw... More

Our stuffed clams tasted like burnt breadcrumbs with siracha mayo on top. The lobster roll here is the worst I've had in 3 years in Maine and my husband's burger was gross. We brought friends from out if state and we were so embarrassed and disappointed that we brought them here. Waste of $160. Take an Uber and go to... More

Great oysters, fresh, many varieties, we only ordered one dozen Maine local oysters (3-Gliddeb point, 3-Pemaquid, 3-Johns river & 3- New Meadows), all are excellent, fish burger very good too. Service was good & very fast, from sit down to bill paid total time less than 40 mins, very busy restaurant but no booking.

My husband and I went out to dinner with friends and I read amazing reviews on Eventide. Excited to try the lobster roll, I was so disappointed to find a little uncooked bun before me, filled with shredded lobster meat. There weren't any fries or sides, which left me still hungry and unimpressed. My husband got the Mahogany baked clams... More

To be short the first time we visited eventide we said we would never go back. Our waitress was wretched and we did not feel well after eating here. I MEAN THIS! IGNORE MY FIRST TWO SENTENCES! Our second time here was beyond amazing the oysters were delicious, our red snapper crudo was delicate, our drinks were perfection. And the... More

Although looking like an oyster bar, its approach borrows from tapas: order a fish sandwich, and that's exactly what comes, no sides. Fine if one comes for cocktails and wants some light fare to accompany, but this gets absurdly expensive for lunch with hungry family. The raw oysters were superb. Stuffed clams small but tasty. Home-made potato chips also good,... More

I recently traveled to Portland, Maine, and looked forward to the opportunity to dine on things unavailable in my home. Obviously, fresh seafood was on top of that list if things. I searched on TA as well as asking around, and unanimously the Eventide came up as the Number 1 go-to. I finally got my opportunity, so I headed down... More

We visited Eventide after a show at the State Theater. Really happy to see that they are open late on a weeknight as we were hungry but didn't want fast food. The space is small and tidy with a little bar area and some tables as well. We sat at the bar next to a selection of oysters on ice.... More

The food was incredible! Definitely a place I would visit again, even in Portland ME, the city with the highest number of restaurants per capita! It is so hard to choose my favorite dish. We tried the lobster roll, crab roll, oyster bun AND the New England clam bake. It's almost tapas style so easy to try so many things!... More

The lobster roll is small, but packed with warm lobster in brown butter-absolutely fabulous! The chowder is good, but not thick, so if that is your preference, skip it. The fish sandwich is very tasty--heavy on some bread and butter pickles, so be aware (I loved it). My husband loved the raw oysters. Not inexpensive, but very good. Also very... More
