Went with wife and friend, so enjoy Asian food, but very pleasantly surprised at the offerings. Typical Japanese options, but have some really cool dishes. Ordered a snapper head - one of my favorite fish dishes, I've ever had. Great atmosphere and seating at bar where food is made right in front of you.

Went here with my parents the other night. From the hype we were expecting a Morimoto like caliber to this place. The service was exceptional, waitress was very kind and knowledgeable. The atmosphere was too bright and we felt uncomfortable eating there. The chefs tasting menu I don't feel was worth it. The food was kind of typical of a... More

Living in NYC and with the many Japanese restaurants I had to try this in Maine especially with their prices. When compared to NYC prices for Omakase, this one was a definite must try during our stay. We ordered the Omakase which is a 7 course meal and also the 4 course dinner. Depending on what 4 items you choose... More

This is a high end Japanese experience. This is just not a sushi bar. These folks take great pride in the high quality ingredients they serve and the presentation is beautiful. We had the four course tasting menu. There were plenty of selections and the portions were on the smaller side but enough to fill you up. The tuna three... More

After failing to get table at Street and co. We walked in and were seated immediately. My dinner partner had never tried raw sushi before. He was impressed. The food is excellent. The portions however are the smallest I have seen in a sushi restaurant. The prices are also the highest I have seen.

Miyake is not cheap, but it is among the most innovative and well executed meals we have eaten. The dining room decor is slightly Asian influenced; there is a quite small "sushi bar." Tables are not spaced too closely together and, thank goodness for the brilliance of the designers and owners, there are artistic sound baffles to moderate the noise... More

Nouvelle Sushi. If there is such a thing. 3 Oysters served in shot glasses watch with a different inventive sauce, One was maple soy. Which was Devine. Main course was chef's sashimi selection.....minimal but really outstanding quality of fish. Each with a distinctive texture and taste. Desserts.....weird selection.

I went for lunch. They offer a reasonably priced prix fixe option, which I got. I also ordered an additional course of foie gras nigiri. There aren't a whole lot of options at lunch. I suspect dinner is much more flexible. Everything I got was cooked so I can't comment on the actual sushi but I enjoyed everything I had.

I had a wonderful lunch yesterday on a business visit to Portland. The restaurant is very nicely renovated and attractive and modern. We started with the tuna tartar, yaki buti (pork belly). Both were unusual and delicious. We also shared the spicy crab roll and salmon ledgy (sp?). The Omakase Sashimi selection was excellent, fresh & tasty. Service was prompt,... More

This is probably one of the best restaurants that we have eaten in. However, you must like Japanese food, including sushi and sashimi. It reminded me of some of the best food that I have eaten in Tokyo. We sat at the sushi bar which enabled us to watch the preparation of all the dishes, cooked and not cooked. The... More
