My wife and I were looking for a late Saturday night open kitchen after landing from the West Coast, and were happy to find Mash Tun still serving food. Though the late night menu was a very limited selection from their regular menu, we found...the chicken tacos and the veggie burger among the best we’ve ever had, and certainly some top tier pub food. I washed it all down with a local double IPA on draft, which really hit the spot!More

Stumbled upon this place while visiting Old Port. Great selection of beers and menu items. I ordered the tacos and friends had grilled cheese with pork .Fairly busy inside but, had tables outside. Will have to try more beer if I'm in area again.

Friendly and nice staff. Very tasty food for a good price! I recommend trying the craft beer I tried the light beer an it was tasty!

Cozy pub with great local craft draft beers. Nice simple burger! Reasonable priced. Shout out to Dan, bartender/waiter.

We were in Portland just for a day on a cruise stop. We were walking around the downtown area and just happened to come across this nice little bar. It had a great atmosphere and alot of local drink options at fair prices. Service was...great, too. We didn't eat, but the food looked & smelled really good. We would certainly go back.More

This is a great bar with great food. We had the best Lobster Rolls in all Maine here. We ate lunch after landing and getting the car to head to Bar Harbor. We had lobster rolls and parmesan truffle fries. We loved it. We left...and spent a week from Bar Harbor working our way back to Portland for two days. All of the lobster rolls we ate along the way just didn't hold up to these guys. We ate here two more times after getting back to Portland. My kid was crazy for the toasted cheese with pulled pork sandwich. Beer here is also excellent. Shout out to Zack and his staff for doing such a great job. Hopefully we can be back soon for some more Lobster Rolls.More

Stopped in for dinner in Portland. Restaurant/bar was very loud and a little dark. They have a small menu of items, including fish tacos and burgers. I got a burger and it was nothing to write home about. I will say the truffle fries were...fantastic. There is a broad assortment of beer here as well. I was underwhelmed by staff and service here. Make sure you get a table before you go in to order anything, as they bring food to you.More

Visited around 8pm on a second trip to Wharf Street. Had previously been disappointed by Gritty's and wanted to sample the extensive range of drafts on offer. When we walked in there were two others at the bar, half an hour later there were at...least twelve others and people seated outside. The one barman was attentive to everyones needs and had time to explain their offering - a great asset to the business. I had a couple of draft IPA's and accompanied them with shrimp tacos - I'd describe them as being "gumbo" in a soft tortilla. Three for $12 and they were excellent.More

Wow we visited this place on a food tour and great selection of beer but more importanly they had the best lobster rolls we tasted. I would go back again just for their lobster rolls and great selection of local beers

Came to visit a friend I haven’t seen in a few years. We went to a few craft breweries and had a fantastic time and experience at all of them. Decided to head out for a late night drink and a small bite to eat....Have to say the selection of beer was phenomenal. Service was fast, friendly and efficient. Huge shout out to Forest genuinely wanted to chat and was extremely knowledgeable about the beer. I would highly recommend and would definitely come again.More

Got the tacos -- pork and chicken -- and they were good. Despite this place being called the Mash Tun, we had cocktails instead of beer, and those were also very good. Eating outside, perched on stools, was a little wobbly on the cobblestones. Indoor...seating area looks dark & cozy, but it wasn't open at the time, thanks to the pandemic.More

We love it here! A friend told us to try it, and so glad we did! We had the tacos- one of each kind they offered. Delicious and affordable. (And they have corn tortillas for the GF people like myself) Amazing craft beer selections. PS:...zack the bartender was our favorite. He needs a raise because he’s great. Can’t wait until our next trip to Portland, just so we can come back to Mash TunMore
