Seeing there has been no recent reviews I felt the need to let other know our experience last night for dinner. As a lifelong visitor to the area we have dined here many times over the years. Before going we had heard many disappointing reviews...from friends. They all talked about the constant turnovers for the in the kitchen and it certainly showed. My wife and a friend had the haddock which is a choice of many other restaurants the area. It was totally dried out and lacked any taste. I had the special of the day, a barbecued pork chop. It was overcooked and not prepared well at all. This is a simple thing to prepare by any semi decent cook at home. Lastly the overall prices are ridiculously high. This is especially true for the food they serve. We won’t be back again until we hear some good things. Go for drinks but eat elsewhereMore

Appetizers : potato dish- skip. One potato’s loaded. Odd to serve it as an appetizer. Crab cake good not great. Two small ones. Ceasar salad really good. Entrees. Shrimp scampi. Did not enjoy. No garlic, lemon herb on pasta. Kind of flavorless. Rib eye was...the best entree. Salmon was moist. The ribs were tastyMore

Because of Covid, there was not a wealth of good choices in the area. Several restaurants we might otherwise have chosen had not re-opened. We were not staying at the site, but had read good reviews. Boy were we disappointed! First, it seems like it...might be a relaxing place to use as a lodging for family and friends. The restaurant is not, however, a place to drive to if you have expectations of a quality dinner. Our waitress (unfortunately, we don't remember her name) was on her first day back. Fair enough. But she was exceedingly slow. It was 45 minutes before she approached our table and she spent more time at the register than attending guests (there were not many that night). Was unfamiliar with the menu and didn't mention anything about specials (though we knew it was "Taco Tuesday"). All that might have been forgivable had the food been wonderful, but it was not. Our food eventually arrived, and was barely warm (as an example: one of the items was a cold baked potato with melted cheese that had hardened again and was sent back to the kitchen). By that time, we didn't care to complain further, so we ate, paid, and left. We will not return.More

We have been coming here for years and have never been disappointed. The cabins are rustic with central heat and a great fireplace. The food here is 5 star especially the Saturday night prime rib! The fabulous sunset is probably the most stunning part of...the experience. You and your family will fully enjoy the care and attention the Philbrick will give you!!More

Charming place to stop for lunch. Food was delicious - best we had in this part of town. Service was great and bar/restaurant spotless. The only reason I marked this as three stars is the owner walked through the restaurant chatting to guests without a...mask. He was (mostly) socially distanced but he needs to set the tone. Waitress did wear her mask at all times. We observed dessert menus being handed from one table to the next without being wiped down. Disappointing, as everything else here is great. Please pay more attention to COVID protocols.More

This is far enough to be a get-away, but all the locals make it popular! Tuesday Tacos make the entertainment by “Robin” special! Appetizers are exceptional, bruschetta and seared ahi tuna top the list! Great service staff here! Indoor and outside seating, weather permitting.

BMC offers a 'frontier' atmosphere with numerous stuffed animals and trophy heads on the wall. The food offered is very generous in its portions and its flavours. many of the starters are filling so beware if you intend to have, as a main, one of...their big stakes which are incredible. The cocktails add to the flavours of the meal. The servers are polite and most helpful.More

Our food was good and portions were generous for our first-time dinner at this comfy restaurant. We were there for the “locals special” night but they were out of all the “specials” by our 8:00 dinner reservation. Also, service was a wee bit off -...our waitress did not realize she had been assigned our table, so we waited over 20 minutes for some attention as clearing the tables had become the focus because the dining room was nearly emptied of departing diners who came in early for the specials. Nonetheless, will probably give the restaurant another try.More

Classic american menu, had a great rib eye steak a few weeks ago. The specials are always good. Must make a reservation for summer weekends. The dining room is a great example of the Maine camps.

Hard to beat the view right on the lake. Consistently pleasant and efficient service. The food, particularly the Atlantic halibut, was quite good. One caution, however, is the spicy meatloaf. While the menu does describe it as spicy, two of us (both accustomed to spicy...food) found it so spicy as to be inedible. Except for that single issue, everything else was very good on the several occasions we ate there while staying at the camp.More

Stopped for lunch with long time friends. Good and not so good experience. First the good - Beautiful restaurant on the lake, great atmosphere inside - log cabin feel, tall pine hewed ceilings, stuffed moose and bear on the walls, nice fireplace - everything you...expect from a Maine restaurant. Nice wine list, beers, signature drinks. Now the not so good - ordered the lobster roll and was promptly told by the waiter they were out. Really! Mid week in the summer?? He said hopefully they will have more by the weekend - What?? Isnt Maine home of the lobster?? Why he didn't tell us they had no more when he seated us? So ordered the fried haddock sandwich instead - small, paper thin piece which was cooked within an inch of its life. I asked for a little extra tartar sauce and was told that would be an extra charge of a few dollars! What?? Dollars??? The fish filet sandwich at McDonalds has better flavor and taste and they give you all the tartar sauce for free!! My husband had the Reuben sandwich - just ok. The highlight of the meal were the hand cut fries although they could have been hotter. All in all nice venue, service friendly but the food needs work.More

My husband and I went to the restaurant on Saturday November 10th. We walked in through the bar area and waited.....no one approached us. We then asked a rather snippy bartender if we should just seat ourselves. She nodded so we toook a table and...waited again. No one approached us still. Long story short we continued to be ignored so we left. VERY disappoing experience!More

Had dinner with friends in this great location on the lake. The Baby Back Ribs are served on a large wooden platter with fries, coleslaw and cornbread. Great presentation and really good Ribs. The lamb was very tasty, but way undercooked. I asked our server...to cook it a bit more. The second time around it was cooked ok on the outside but totally raw near the bone. Service was very good.More
