Hug's is our favorite restaurant at Sugarloaf. They serve family-style salad, decent bread, and a variety of good pasta dishes in a homey, warm environment. For those who don't want a pasta entree, there are other options. On a cold winter night in the middle...of Maine, you can't beat it!More

Delicious Italian food out in the woods of Maine. Friendly service and quaint dining atmosphere. Decent portions and modest plating. Service was very good and our waiter was super pleasant.

Great girlfriend’s weekend skiing at Sugarloaf included dinner at Hugs. Cheese Raviolis were delicious, and my friend enjoyed the eggplant parm with linguini. Attentive service and great dining suggestions by the waitstaff made our evening very enjoyable.

Hugs is and always has been the most delightful restaurant experience - great menu, recipes, cozy room and service. And, that’s for only the last 15 years and counting. Appetizers diverse and tasty. Entrees seafood, chicken, veal and meatballs with a wide variety of preparations...and sauces. Oh, and delicious thin bread heated with garlic, oil and herbed with nice green salad come with the meal. Good wine list to compliment. Highly recommend.More

I was not expecting an Italian place in rural Maine to blow me away - Hug's did! The portions were generous and scrumptious. The service was impeccable. The decor was really nice - mixture of ski lodge and American Italian restaurant, which worked together in...a quaint way. I'll be back next time I stay at the Hostel of Maine, which is within walking distance.More

Recommended by our hotel and we were pleasantly surprised. Returned the second night to celebrate my birthday. We tried the sausage appetizer. Dinners were chicken parmesean and eggplant paremesean. Both very good. We also enjoyed the LUNCH locally brewed beer. Extremely pleasant and attentive staff!

My family had the lasagne (awesome but small for a starving teenager), eggplant parm (better than mine sadly), tender chicken parm and excellent veal parm. The service was fabulous and the whole experience was like being in someone's house. Definitely order some meatballs to start.

Wow! How many people have passed by thinking this place can't be anything to write home about. It feels like you are dining in someone's living room while the food is prepared to order on a four burner stove in the kitchen. The entree quality...was fabulous. I was disappointed that an Italian place had no idea what a Negroni was however.More
