After a full day of hiking the rod and reel cafe gave us (3 people) a great meal with ample food to recharge. The service (Sam) was great - very cheerful and attentive. Ordered the haddock sandwich and was happy to see a real fish (as opposed to a square extruded fish product) that was much larger than the bun.... More

We had dinner here several times. The prime rib is delightful and the salad was wonderful. They have a bar and regular seating. It is in a nice corner location in the town of Greenville, Maine. It is just across the street from Moosehead Lake. Great food and service.

My husband and I are staying at a local hotel and I stopped to see if they have a takeout menu. Sometimes we enjoyed taking dinner back to the room. Sadly no they don't have a takeout menu. The waitress offered to let me stand there and read their in-house menu. When I refused she stated that I could take... More

The dinner was great and our wait staff Sam was wonderful. Order a steak and the salmon and you won't go wrong. Nothing fancy here. Just good food and friendly people.

The restaurant was good. The server was great. I wasn't very fond of the way we were handled on arrival. We were immediately seated and then another person came over and told us she needed us to move as she had promised that table to someone else. She also disparaged the person who seated us as "new" and "doesn't know... More

Hi Damien C! Thank you for taking the time to write about your visit to Rod-N-Reel Cafe. I'm sorry you felt mishandled when you were sat at the wrong table. It was extremely busy, and the restaurant business is a stressful industry. My sincere apologies for being abrupt if that is how I came across. I have a completely new... More

A most remarkable meal. From the fish chowda and home-made bread, to the whole-bellied clams and the baked scallops. It was a flavorful feast. We'll be back. Don't miss it. :-)

We have been coming to Greenville for years and never had the opportunity to dine at Rod-N-Reel. Sarah our waitress was very friendly, knew the menu, made excellent recommendations and was spot on with service. The appetizers, meals and dessert were timed perfectly. Food was delish and prepared as requested. The owner Karen checked in on us and made us... More

This place has been around for a long time, we learned. There seemed to be a lot of "locals" there, though we were tourists. The seafood was fresh and well prepared, portions were generous and in general of good value. The wait staff seemed a little overwhelmed with too many tables and too few servers. Our waitress was very friendly,... More

Hi Splanky! Thank you for taking the time to review Rod-N-Reel Cafe. We are glad to hear you enjoyed the food and were impressed with the portions. I'm sorry you felt the waitstaff was harried and overworked. I remember that night well. The servers felt they were fine and could handle more tables and insisted on not having a 3rd... More
