We stopped in here for lunch on a Tuesday. Definitely popular amongst the senior demographic! We had the onion rings for an appetizer. Very good, enough for two to share. One of the specials was a hot chicken sandwich, which came with choice of potato,...More

My husband and I were exhausted from a busy day of traveling. Before we retired to our motel, we stopped for dinner at Helen's. Helen's was clean, friendly and had great food. It reminded me of one of our favorite restaurants back home. The homemade...More

We had lobster at Helen's and it was very good and quite inexpensive. The interior is OK but not on par with the food. Staff very friendly and attentive, so all in all, it is a good alternative while in Ellsworth.

The food was excellent, we had seafood (5 different dishes) it tasted like each item was cooked in its own fresh oil, warm homemade bread, salad that was crisp and cold, and onion rings that were the best I have ever eaten. Dessert looked good...More

Love Helen's...had lunch here with my brother and my husband. Didn't take a lot of photos...but the food is still great, fresh, and homemade. Great haddock chowder (we ordered three) and the best homemade pies...quite a collection! Fresh baked daily. Same premise as Helen's up...More

Well, you are right. I have not eaten these before but wanted to try one during my trip to Maine. The roll I got was a regular, cheap hot dog bun, nothing special and no grilled top cut roll. Based on this experience, I... More
