A local person in Round Pond recommended this place. We love local and organic food so it really was just what we were looking for. We had an early dinner and all four of us were thrilled with our meals. Two of us got the...More

We read other reviews and said let try it being Gluten Free. The menu has several GF items. Unfortunately our waitress was a bit involved with her phone to provide the level of service commensurate with the prices. The gluten free biscuit with my wife's...More

We spent a week this summer in Maine, and one of the absolute highlights of the trip was when I was able to (leave the kids with the grandparents) and take my wife out to dinner at Savory Maine. We're total local/organic foodies and this...More

I sat outside and had the finnan haddie, a salad, and a blueberry cider. The food was unusual and delicious and the setting was very pleasant. Yes, it was a little pricey but I considered it my "splurge" for the day and don't regret it...More

I live in an adjoining town year round and eat in restaurants from Damariscotta to Rockland regularly. Savory Maine is my favorite in the assortment. The quiet, bright, tastefully restored old church building is decorated with the work of better regional artists. The menu is...More

The pluses: a quaint building overlooking the bay, a small outside upper deck patio, an accommodating server and owner and menu choices for our vegan granddaughters. The minuses: at dusk, the mosquitos outside were plentiful, the food was only average and the prices high. We...More

During our visit to Maine it has been very difficult to find restaurants that offer interesting food for both my omnivore friends and for me (vegan preference). While there was not much choice for vegans, there was enough - - even dessert. We all enjoyed...More

I had the fin and haddie a smoked cod dish that you don't see on most menus and my wife had a tempeh meatloaf. The restaurant is in a converted church and we ate at a table overlooking the river on what must have been...More

The reviewer who called this place "pretentious and overpriced" is dead on. They clearly have delusions of being a fine dining establishment. We had a server who never once came back to check on us, probably because we asked her to explain some of the...More

Description
Savory Maine Local Organic Restaurant and Provisions features delicious, creatively prepared food in our elegant dining room that was formerly the sanctuary of a church and before that a schoolroom. We locally source all of our produce, seafood poultry, pork beef, dairy and eggs. Essentially all of our food is organically grown, grass fed or wild harvested. Our muffins, scones, and cookies, rolls biscuits and desserts are all baked in house. We always have vegetarian, vegan and gluten free items on the menu and gladly modify our recipes to satisfy your dietary needs. Our lower level has cafe seating and a retail space that features Maine grown and produced food that has been organically grown, wild harvested or grass fed, and a selection of environmentally friendly, Maine made gift items. Takeout is available and with advanced notice we can prepare larger quantities for you special event. Our quiche and haddock chowder have a large and growing following. We hear "this is the best I've ever had" all the the time. We have a nice selection of organic beer and wine and delicious mead made with Maine wildflower honey. We have outside seating on our waterfront deck in the warm weather. Dogs and their well behaved owners are welcome there. We look forward to your visit.
