to have lunch. But great breakfast is available all day. A vinegar based BBQ pulled pork and haddock soup and lasagna were our choices. Plenty of other choices and friendly service!

There wasn't much choice of lunch in Calais when we stopped at Karen's cafe after our visit to St Croix near the Canada border. The food was good and good value-- fries and sandwiches were better than my choice of chowder which was a little watery but the fish was perfect and tasty.

Lovely people with warm embraces. We never know how important is a kind word - we humans, but Karen's always does.

Had a 1/2 breakfast burrito with homefries. With tax, coffee and tip-$10.53.Server Sherry was very quick and pleasant.I got the obligatory diner "hon" greeting.Burrito was good sized and medium spicy.Definitely a place i would go again.Seafood platter-most expensive item on menu-$24.95.Bar next door and bookstore a few doors down.Perfect. One wide step up-easily accessible using a walker.Bench outside.

Service was good and the lobster roll was okay. I prefer less claw meat. The IPA had just run out. We visited on a Wednesday and there were several people seated at the bar.

We stopped in Calais on a weekday morning to have breakfast and gas up the car before we headed on a short adventure into Canada. Karen's Main Street Diner was a fantastic place to stop! Fast friendly service and yummy food! We tried their coffee, oatmeal, breakfast burrito, and veggie omelet- all good!!

A small hole in the wall diner located along the main street in Calais. They offer breakfast all day too. I ordered the haddock burger. It was the best fish sandwich I think I have ever eaten.

My fellow TripAdvisor reviewers helped me pick Karen's Main Street Diner and my place for lunch when I spent a day in Calais. Parking spaces out front on the street were unavailable. I went to the parking lot up on the hill behind the adjacent business block. The walkway came out beside Karen’s Bar & Grill which was next door... More
