A grotty dump in desperate need of a makeover. The Seals Craig/La Barca site is prime real estate in South Queensferry (which is sadly overrun with restaurants) and the current owner hasn't got a clue. He simply doesn't have a business mind. La Barca could be the best in SQ if it were in better hands. The view from the... More

We have eat in this restaurant many times and have always enjoyed the food and service. The prices are reasonable and the portions are decent. The views from the restaurant are stunning and we have been able to watch the development of the new Forth Road Bridge.

What a lovely restaurant - was taken here by son whilst visiting from England - they recommended it and we were very impressed - quick friendly service and yummy food. The views of the bridge were stunning and it was bonfire night so lots of pretty fireworks too!

I have been here before a long time ago and really enjoyed it, This time when i walked i noticed that it was or looked like different management and the place was empty, i looked at the girl and say'd Oooh no, But the service was really good, and the food was really good, the fact that we were the... I was in La Barca on my holiday. There is very beautiful, lovely view from restaurant. Atmosphere like in home. Service was perfect. Lasagne and pasta was very tasty and delicious for normal price. I had nice time in this Italian restaurant. There are ship cruises nearby where we can go for some entertainment. I recommend this place.

South Queensferry is a great place to visit. We tried several restaurants before venturing into La Barca but once we did, we keep coming back. The interior with its little wooden framed windows and dark wood makes you feel like you are dining in the Captain's cabin. It is actually a traditional Italian family restaurant. Host Pino is always very... More

Have not had great experiences here a few times over the past couple of years and have not been back for some time because of that. Decided to give it a try on Wednesday 28th September. Ordered a Fillet Diane and a Sirloin in Pepper and white wine sauce. Again waited some time to be served and there were only... More

The restaurant lacked atmosphere. I had mussels to start which were lovely but the focaccia was dry and the calamari batter looked under cooked. I had penne arrabiata for my main and I felt the pasta was over cooked and not that spicy. The veal Milanese was very dry along with its accompaniments and well over priced for what it... More

Not my first time eating in that place and this time nothing changed. Had pasta and mussels and its lack of taste, especially if you looking to eat Italian food. I can cook better and cheaper at home:) View is lovely and setting is nice, service ok but the food only 3 stars unfortunately. Pasta dishes are very simple and... More
