Strawns on Kings Highway is a decades old local institution where home-like food abounds. The portions are generous and the staff strives to please. “Famous” for pies made daily though they are getting pricey. Can’t go wrong if your sense of adventure is high.

The new store dose not live up to the reputation of the original location. the new location is hidden in the back of a strip center. The service was far below what I expected.

Ever since I was a kid, this has been a great place to eat. It started on Kings Highway across from Centenary College. Now there are several in Shreveport & Bossier City.

My wife and I attended the Shreveport Red River Revel when it started raining off and on. Ticked off when they ran everyone off, no thunder or lightning. Anyhoo, we didn't get to eat so we went to Strawns, which was about 230 pm. Very...More

Strawn's feels like home. When you eat there, you feel like someone you love and loves you is in the kitchen. It beats the heck out of those fast food places. The pies, well they speak for themselves! If you don't have time to bake...More

This is a family owned diner/cafe restaurant. They have wonderful daily lunches, burgers, fries, and breakfast all day. They have pies that are famous. Their pies have been reviewed several times in Southern Living. Several generations in Shreveport have been raised going to Strawn’s. On...More

Ok so first off you have to understand that with places like Stawn's I always try a burger on the first trip and judge the quality of the diner by that standard. It was horrible!! My meal was like $10 and it was a sonic...More

Always fabulous down home cooked meals. They serve breakfast all day. And their pies are well known all around the state. So delicious especially their strawberry.

Best breakfast in town!! I highly recommend Strawn’s. I have gotten super good service there. The lunches are great too but I usually eat the breakfasts.

I'm sorry you do not like our hash browns. They are the Greek style we've served for over 70 years, but we understand they are not for everyone.

We have given out the recipe before to Southern Living, but the secret to our recipe is the people who make them. They've been making them the same from scratch, daily; a tradition passed down for 80 years.

Yes they serve that daily. They have their meal special of the day but you can order anything they have on their menu. It's just good down home cooking. All their pies are delicious.

Description
Strawns Eat Shop specializes in Southern Food, and is best know for their famous ice box pies. We have breakfast all day, including fluffy pancakes and "Football" omlettes. For lunch and dinner try a hamburger, chicken fried steak or a blue plate special. Our famous Ice Box Pies have been featured in Southern Living and on The Food Network. Most of our employees have been here for decades! We are the truly one of the last remaining "mom and pop" run restaurants around! Think Norman Rockwell America!! Stop by and eat with the locals because everyone is family at Strawn's!
