The food was original and delicious. Service was excellent and dress was casual. We had the Cajun biscuits and gravy as well as Swamp Grits. They were excellent and original. The beignets were top notch too. Bob the manager was friendly and walked around greeting...everyone.More

Not much to look at, a converted gas station. But if you want hot, tasty Louisiana cuisine at a very reasonable price, THIS is the place. Counter service, not real fast, a bit chilly on cool days. No ambiance to speak of. But the FOOD...is spot on, whether it is the crawfish, the shrimp creole, the boudin balls, whatever. Your taste buds don't care what the place looks like.More

Very disappointed in the food. Ambiance was what we were looking for, real down home dive restaurant, which should have good food. We ate hear based on reviews but were disappointed in the food. I had the po-boy shrimp sandwich. It was slathered in mayo,...lettuce and fried green tomato. No spice, no zing. I had to put catchup and seasoning on the shrimp to finally eat my shrimp. The roll was good but too big for the amount of shrimp. The guys tried the gumbo and were very disappointed. It was ok, but again due to the review we were expecting great, at least good. We ended up leaving a lot of food because the food was to bland to finish. My son-in-law and my husband never leave any food on their plates. We didn't even stay for the beignets.More

You can tell there is love for what the owners do… I came in for lunch after graduation (I live in the Baton Rouge area), and everything was delicious. The service was great. The champagne (on tap) was phenomenal. The seafood was some of the...best we have had, and that’s coming from Louisiana natives. If we’re ever in the Shreveport area, I would stop here again.More

Good, casual cajun food. We had the etoufee and gumbo. The roast beef po boy wasn't good. Staff are very friendly. Atmosphere is pleasantly casual.

If you are looking for an upscale restaurant with nice ambiance, do not go here. If you want friendly and efficient waiters, do not go here. If you want really good and authentic Cajun food, come here. The gumbo was excellent. The fried catfish combo...plate was enough for two and very good. There bread was so tasty. Don’t be put off by the “service station” appearance, this is the real deal. Worth the put-of-way locationMore

OK, I'm not an expert on Cajun food, but I crave it and when I'm going through LA I'm excited about it. Well, I was and I did. I have nothing to do with NO anymore it's off my list ( I don't even slow...down) BUT Shreveport Marilynn's Place exactly the kind of place I look for. I like the way they work. Friendly easy atmosphere that feels like your with family. I was on the go so I ordered to go. As I was leaving I had a Boudin Ball. I knew immediately I had made a mistake. I stopped the truck went inside and ordered more Boudin Balls. Loved them. thanks AltheaMore

I enjoyed my jambalaya here. Cool and casual vibe with a bar. There are plenty of places to sit. If other places are crowded you can find a spot here.

I want to like this place I truly do. But my last meal there was so bad that I probably won't be back. I had the shrimp poboy and it was drowning in sauce and mayo. The whole sandwich fell apart when unwrapped and left...one with a pile of shrimp that were not too tasty.More

We had been here a couple of years ago and it was delicious. We were disappointed on this visit. We shared a regular size gumbo. It was ok but defiant more rice and not a lot of gumbo. We had two regular size shrimp po...boys. The bread was definitely but the shrimp were small and every greasy. We could have easily split a regular size because it was huge. We need up taking half and more than half the the sandwiches home. I wish the waitress hold told us we were ordering way to much. Then we got two regular size roast beefs to go and they were ok but nothing like Mothers in Orleans. It was ok and not anything great.More

Beignets are best when they are fresh so hopefully you don't have to travel far before enjoying them :)

Looking at the bar right now. They definitely have a bar and make a mean bloody Mary. Don't see a wine list.
