Stopped here for lunch on way back from Basingstoke. Lovely local pub. Staff very pleasant and friendly. The food was excellent and served quickly even though it was getting busy. Would highly recommend and will certainly visit again

Had lunch here. Service good and friendly. Lovely tasting, well presented food. Nice comfortable place with good atmosphere and busy for a weekday lunch time in a rural pub. Nice if you want somewhere different. Will visit again.

Had great lunch today here with a friend. Meal was beautiful served by very polite staff. All food locally sourced. A wide variety of gins and whiskies sold. Would recommend danebury white wine which is very drinkable. Will definitely be going back again.

Came with a friend for lunch. Found the lunchtime menu underwhelming. Friends omelette was over cooked. Shame because the normal menu looked good. However we only wanted something light

Went here on a recommendation. Has really good selection of beer and gin - If you love gin you need to come here. Landlord was very knowledgeable about gin (although it did feel he was pushing a local one. Nothing wrong in that, they seem...More

Description
Award winning independent family owned free house. Daily changing menu cooked with local ingredients when available. We are able to source world award winning cheese, lamb, eggs and game when in season from our village. We have four real ale pumps and sell at least two local ales. We have a large wine list, many served by the glass and an extensive Gin & Whisky offering. The building is Victorian with huge windows and high ceilings and heated by two log burners throughout winter, for the summer we have a large garden with patio area seating .
