I went here last weekend and had poor service. I ordered the etouffee and about 10 min later came and said that they were out. I then ordered and appetizer and gumbo. My friend ordered a salad. He got his salad and about 10 min later I got my appetizer. No gumbo though. The ticket was brought and I still... More

Chicken and sausage gumbo - excellent, crawfish etoufee was my first try, and didn't hate it, but didn't love it, can't quite tell you if it was good. The red beans and rice were out of this world. Everything was spicy and I loved it. The white chocolate bread pudding, is worth all the dieting I have to do for... More

Prejean's is a largish barn of a place with no-nonesense wipe clean red checked tablecloths. The decor is swamp (and fun) with stuffed alligators and moss hanging off fake trees. Our server was incredibly slow, we had to keep chasing him to get the one soda refill we had. Food was deep fried and not great - gumbo was warm... More

Last time (about 4years ago) I remembered a more lively environment. This time it just seemed more tourist oriented. It wasn't as busy as before. The band would play a song or two and stop. Maybe it was an off Friday night? The food was still very good and well seasoned. Pictured the Shrimp Extravaganza. Seafood stuffed mushrooms were excellent.

My son & I ate lunch on a Saturday at Prejean's. Our waiter was quiet but nice. He was an older gentleman who perfected the ability to be there when we needed him & not there when we didn't. My son ordered the 1/2 & 1/2 fried crawfish & étouffée. I ordered the appetizer crab cake & a baked potato.... More

We ate dinner there for the first time. Interestingly enough, another couple we'd met earlier in the afternoon said not to eat there. We went anyway. We were seated immediately. Then nothing. Sat there a good 10 minutes before the server came to ask us what we wanted to drink. I told him... water without lemon for both my husband... More

I have never left a bad review but if I can save other people the experience we had, here goes. We went in a group. The restaurant had several weeks notice. We were put in a small, windowless room. The service was horrible and the food was even worse. After 2 1/2 hours some people still didn't have their meals.... More

Go to Prejean's for that bayou atmosphere. Good food, good service, live music. The only thing I didn't care for was the dirty rice but it was my first time and I think the flavor just isn't my cup of tea. Everything else was good.

Stopped in here during a road trip based on reviews. The quality of the food was average at best and was NOT worth the inflated prices. Ex: very small cup of gumbo was $8.50 and drinks were $3 ea. The atmosphere was fun for Louisiana, but other than that, we won't be back.

40 of us made reservations weeks in advance. We arrived, were seated and had to wait 3 hours for our entree. Totally unacceptable.
