When in Louisville, you MUST have a Hot Brown. Bristol's was excellent! And I washed it down with a Dead Guy Ale from Oregon. Doesn't get any better than that.

Common place to meet customers because its right near our office. The food is good pub food with some typical sandwiches.. I have had some decent soups and salad but the club sandies were just not that great.

I suspect we all have "comfort foods" that we resort to when the need for gustatory familiarity arises. For me, the Bristol Bar & Grille on Bardstown Rd. is akin to that: it is a "comfort" place where the familiarity of ambience, menu, and service give a predictable boost to my soul. Over the years I have relied on what... More

We stopped by here earlier in the day to escape the 100+ temperature and decided to come back for dinner. Extremely good food for the money. It has all the appearance of an upscale place, but dinner for 2 with a drink apiece was less than $50. I had Shrimp Rockafeller and my wife had Shrimp Stir Fry

Our family needed seating for 18 for Sunday Brunch after another arrangement fell thru, so we decided to try the Bristol (The Highlands location), having dined there for lunch & dinner on past visits to Louisville. We were seated immediately (it was about 12:15pm) & we all proceeded to feast on the Sunday Brunch buffet. Excellent down-home food is served----fried... More

I had dinner at Bristol on 7/21/12. I love pasta, so I ordered Pietro, linguine tossed with mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes, garlic and capers in olive oil and white wine. Th pasta came with the smallest side salad I ever saw. The salad was very good. The pasta on the other hand looked dry, as if it sat under the lights... More

Salads are stodgy, if serviceable. Green Chili Won-ton appetizer saves this from a worse score.

Since the mid 1970's this local landmark, now a local chain is well loved and well visited. Some menu items have remained since day one: artichoke fritters served with a remolaude sauce, green chili wontons with a zippy avocado sauce, burger served on a toasted English muffin (called the Bristol burger), a steak sandwich with béarnaise sauce, and a dish... Strange that the Jeffersonville Bristol isn't listed in the Jeffersonville restaurant list. Been there twice, both times for Hot Browns. Most recently on 07/08/2012. Enjoyed them each time. Everything else was very good as well. Recommended. Service always exemplary.

The food is EXCELLENT. I love the location right on bardstown road. If the weather is nice, I recommend seating on the patio. It is a lovely spot. The green chili wontons are amazing. They are so good, that I actually crave these and have to make the trek to Louisville. They are worth it. I don't know what it... More
