Since moving to Covington, I’ve enjoyed two meals at Kung Food Chu’s AmerAsia and I can assure you I will be back. The restaurant itself is fun with cool decorative touches including vintage Kung Fu movies on the TVs. The whimsical menu features inspired choices...like Sesame Street Chicken, Brocco-Lee and Big Bird’s Nest. Fun aside, the food is GOOD, the servings are generous and the bar has interesting choices available (great beer selection, wine not so great since it’s likely not ordered that often and what was in the open bottle tasted vinegary). Favorite things thus far include the Crab Rangoon, Big Bertha Egg Roll, Mongolian Beef and Sesame Street Chicken. My kid’s chicken Lo Mein dish was awesome, too. You get to choose your spice level on the dishes, which the attentive servers explain well. Recommended.More

Nothing terribly unique, but the menu is a bit quirky and fun. We ordered takeout and everything we had was great!

Delicious food and friendly service. Sat in the patio because of our dog - note that you have to request take out because there’s no service on the patio. The patio area could stand to be fixed up a bit.

Since COVID, the only thing you could get was carryout. I had the chicken fried rice and wonton soup. The wonton soup was just mediocre. It was nothing to write home about. After reading the reviews on here about the heat, I decided to go...with a level 3 heat as everyone said 4 starts at the habanero level. I love spicy food and 3 was VERY weak. I should have got about a 6 or 7 and probably would have been fine after tasting my level 3. The food was not worth the dinner price of roughly $13. If I would have had the same for a lunch special, maybe, but I have had MUCH better Chinese food. To top it all off, while I was waiting for my food, they let a customer with a dog come into the restaurant. This was NOT a service dog, but just a dude with a dog. That's not good at all.More

Great food. They add a unique twist to some classics. Food was fresh and delicious. My favorite is the MeHowFun. They did a great job of handling COVID with excellent sanitation and touches pickup that made me feel very confident.

The reviews were great, so we tried this out. I felt it wasn't that good. The fried rice was just rice with soy sauce in it. The cashew chicken didn't really have a sauce and didn't compare to the cashew chicken I make. On the...up side the price was decent and the dumplings were delicious and the service was great.More

This was our second time trying KungFood. The first time we were in town for work and the day we decided we wanted take out it was pouring down rain. We walked to the restaurant and carried it back to the hotel in the rain....The food made enough of an impression on us that we HAD to have it when we came back this year for our Valentine’s Day weekend. In fact this was our dinner on Valentine’s Day! We ordered the big Bertha spring roll and we loved it so much we had to order a second one after our food came! Who knew a spring roll with cilantro could be so delicious?! They give you the option to add spicy to any meal or scale it back. Also they have special menus that give a full on description of the foods. They color code what’s spicy and what isn’t, what’s vegetarian and what isn’t, what’s a favorite and what’s a classic. I ordered the beef fly rice (cause it’s pretty fly for white rice?) with a spice level of 1-3. It’s fantastic and fresh with fresh green onion. The spice wasn’t over bearing and the flavor is so good. Some truly great fried rice. My wife had the imperial beef stew and absolutely loved it. It wasn’t overly spicy and she had it with the traditional noodles. We did get to dine in the restaurant this time and the atmosphere is super fun and the staff are all great. I even got to watch some anime (yes I’m a nerd whatever!). Overall it’s a great experience and an awesome place to get some good Asian fusion.More

We've been coming here since my son discovered AmerAsia when he first moved to Covington. Great selection on the menu, can actually get some nice heat to the food too. Just be aware that you basically need to double their 1-10 heat scale vs anyone...else. Habanero starts at level 4 and ghost pepper at level 6. Large selection of local craft beers. My son chose AmerAsia for his rehearsal dinner and everyone was glad they did...especially me since the price including alcohol was so reasonable. Food was fresh, large assortment of craft beers and wine.More

First of all the atmosphere was totally cool.Small little hole in the wall with a bar (and i'm not much of a drinker). I like little hole in the wall type places. I was here with my daughter, wife, and wife's parents on a weekend...trip to the Cincinnati Zoo. Everybody seemed to enjoy their meals pretty good and we were all convinced that was some of the meatiest Wonton soup we've ever had...very very good! If you want to give spicy food a try (like I do) then this place is definitely worth it. I ordered the General Chu's chicken. There heat scale is from 1-10 for the spicy entrees...1 being mild, and up to 10 being the spiciest. I believe the waiter said at number 4 was when the habanero pepper was added and at 7 was the ghost pepper (double check on this though if you want to try the spicy stuff). I first thought lets try a 6, but then decided to play it safe and do a 5. Trust me, 5 was plenty spicy. It was not excruciating but enough to keep you busy with cooling yourself off. Definitely an awesome place to check out for some Asian cuisine!More
