We were here for breakfast it was the Breeders Cup so they were having only Breakfast Buffet. It was $15 per person. It had very few items on the buffet in fact I would have to say you have more variety at any one of the chain hotels expanded breakfasts. It was the most "concise" breakfast buffet I have seen.... We arrived close to closing but was still treated with courtesy. Food and service was exceptional, especially the quail. It deserved a 5 star rating. The following morning was a different story. Service (I think waiter's name was Patrick) was horrific, food was cold, biscuits looked like they were at least two days old and had been reheated in microwave.... More

Getting good food at a hotel can sometimes be difficult. That is not the case at the Boone Tavern Hotel Restaurant. The menu is great, the food is delicious and the service is excellent. It is a bit pricey but worth every penny. Their signature spoon bread is authentic southern style country cooking at its best.

I recently ate here as a special occasion, a party of 8 adults. Spoon bread was dry and tasteless. I had the pork chops (tricky)with kale and cheese grits. No rolls/soup/salad are served with the meal.I had a modest serving of 2 breaded pork cutlets. The kale was just ok and the cheese grits were tasteless and not cheesy.Price $19.... More

Very pleasant dinning room, in a old historic hotel. It was remolded a few years ago and is very comfortable. We had Sunday Brunch Buffet (17.95 plus beverages) and had a very nice meal. Sometimes some food was not immediately replenished and had to wait 5-15 minutes for it to come out. Having a omelet made could take time as... More

My brother recommended this place as his favorite and he was right. He and his wife like this place for their anniversary. My wife & I found Sunday Brunch to be great. Nice atmosphere, great food. Service was just OK, but did not really take away from the experience.

We stayed at the Tavern and had dinner here in the evening and breakfast the next morning. The atmosphere of the tavern is lovely, but note, there is no bar and spirits are served in the dining room with dinner. This was not an issue and actually contributed to the charming nature of this restaurant. The food was excellent and... More

My mother & I who live in Texas were visiting my brother & his family in Lexington. As I grew up in Lexington and visited Berea & Boone Tavern many times in my teens & early 20's a trip to Boone Tavern for lunch was on the to-do list. Seven of us had a lunch on a Saturday. Boone Tavern... More

Impressed with how the college students work the hotel and restaurant. Feels like we're helping when we eat there. Fantastic decor in this historic hotel. Spoon bread, fried green tomatoes, pork chops the trick way and fish.

We were very let down by the restaurant. I used to come here to eat as a child in the late sixties and early seventies. I loved it then. Upon arriving at the hotel the night before, we were told that if we wanted breakfast on Saturday,we were required to pay $15.00 a piece for a breakfast buffet and reservations... More
