Lovely little French restaurant nestled in the Prairie Village shopping area. It is an intimate setting that serves wonderful French food. I particularly like the mussels. You'll have to keeping asking for more of bread though to soak up all the delicious broth it comes in.

15 year old quaint restuarant in a strip mall but come on in for an outstanding meal. We had lunch and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Good service and well prepared meals that were seasoned perfectly. Their wine list is average but they do have a corkage policy that we have taken advantage in the past. Top French restaurant in the... More

I took my husband for lunch to celebrate his birthday. Having recently returned from Paris, where we celebrated my birthday, we enjoyed the familiar ambiance. The Soupe à l’Oignon was outstanding and not to be missed. We did not select the L’Endive au Bleu salad, but will not make that mistake next time. We also ordered the Moules Marinières and... More

First class french food and ambiance. Was there with friends last night - Steak, fish, chicken, veal - salads were all different and everyone was supremely happy. Great wine list.

Had not heard of this restaurant before winning a gift certificate. If you aren't heading specifically to it, you could be forgiven for passing by it. Unassuming with a small footprint in the middle of the Prairie Village Shops. However, the inside is cosy with an obvious French air. The onion soup my son had was delicious. Wife and I... More

Feisty One and I were beckoned to go to dinner with our part-timer, Florida-based neighbors who live in our condo. They are on our "official" approved list of foodies. They travel internationally every few months and are well-versed in wine/food. We arrived, seated quickly(MAKE RESO at least a week in advance). Bill ordered he and I a great red and... More

As dining becomes relentlessly more casual, it was a pleasure to find a perfect example of what fine dining should be: nice décor, padded tables with white linens, flowers on the table, butter knives, attentive service, and, of course, excellent food. Our meal began with a prompt serving of bread and butter that kept us occupied until our first course... More

Outstanding French food, so lucky to have it close by! Mussels were wonderful, have been searching for them ever since my last visit to Provence and have finally found them!

Cafe Provence is one of the few remaining places in Kansas City to serve authentic French cuisine. Dining al fresco during nice weather is a plus even though you are looking at a parking lot instead of the Seine. The limited menu always has something delicious to eat and the service is attentive; albeit the dining room is small and... More
