One of my husband's colleagues wanted to go here. The environment was nice, and the company was great! Food was decent, but overpriced. We've had better BBQ, and my husband is an exec at a top meat industry. The floors were a little greasy and I almost slipped twice walking in/out of the restaurant.
I thought the barbecue here was pretty good but some of the food came out cold. The star of the meal was the sides. Their mac and cheese and the beans are really good. The price is on the high side.
After reading reviews I was expecting more. Food was all good, but nothing special. Was disappointed to find out they do not make their own potato salad. Unfortunately I found a rock in my potato salad. Manager took care of my meal but certainly made me rethink dining there. Would not go back or recommend.
While there is plenty of terrific BBQ to be had in the Kansas City area, Jack Stack sets the bar. With its fall-off-the-bone ribs, its tender morsel burnt ends, and its meat-laden baked beans, it's a stop not to be missed if you want to be sure you've had the very best of KC barbecue.
We pop into JSBBQ a couple of times per month. Their food is good, not great and their prices are a little high. You get a good amount of food and their service is always very good. Head toward a table near the bar to avoid a wait. Their waiting area is too small and their hostesses are rarely friendly.
We had a busy day and ordering take out for after the show looked like the best idea. We ordered the Roundup under the enough 'cue for two section. It was very good as usual and there was plenty of food.
Some out of state colleagues wanted to eat BBQ and I recommended several local BBQ joints. For proximity they chose Jack Stack. We sat in the bar, which was noisy.
