Why am I drinking and eating here? Well my son's is off Kayaking with his seascout group so I have an hour and a half to kill on a Monday evening......what better place to spend the time than The Anchor. Good beer and great food. I fully recommend the Paneer Gobi Curry....whether you are a vegitarian or not. I am... More

Disappointed. Tired pub in serious need of refurb. Underwhelmed...food ok but blighted by venue. Landlady could be more hospitable! Won`t go back!

We ate here after a visit to Teapot Island (next door). Lovely location by the river, a few places to stroll nearby, and access to the river for boating To the restaurant itself - we were there on a Sunday so a couple of roast lunch specials were available, but most of us opted for something from the standard menu... We wanted to leave a review as we have been visiting the Anchor this summer and wanted to share the experience. We've only eaten bar snacks so far but the service & quality has been spot on....and the setting, well what can i add to what's already been said! Its a stunning location, the sort of pub that's well worth... More

We stopped here for a Sunday lunch over the bank holiday weekend, we were a little concerned after reading reviews, but meal was good, large and at very reasonable price. Here's the crunch.... The Cauliflower Cheese was the best we've had all year from any pub in Kent, Surrey and Sussex!!

Popped in for coffee late Sunday morning. We were going to stay for lunch, looked at menu very average and quite pricey for what it was offering. Coffee was weak and out of a dispensing machine. Have been told that new owners will be refurbishing the restaurant and a new menu will be produced with the emphasis on food. Great... More

Good place to visit, so many teapots. There is a play area for children, good food from the restaurant, really good Sunday lunch. There is a small gift shop where you can buy small gifts and teapots, money raised goes to Kent Air Ambulance.

On the plus side, The Anchor has a really nice, almost pristine location. It has the Medway right next to it, and it is in a beautiful setting. However, the day that I arrived with around 12 cycling friends , the outside area had been taken over by a group of " youngsters" jumping from the bridge, yelling and screaming,... More
