The next best thing to travel is to experience a place through their food! This is a wonderful place to do just that!

I ate here years ago with a friend and since then have traveled to Ecuador and Peru. Browsing the menu online recently I was excited to return and eat some foods I am now familiar with. I got there after the dinner rush on a Saturday, so the entree I wanted had sold out, but the arroz con pollo was... More

We love this place family owned and operated... Consistently good service... Wonderful food and great family! We usually do the beef stuffed plantain patties ( tortillas de verde) and arroz con pollo... Which you could probably split. Massive portions delicious food. Don't be afraid of the Ecuadorean cuisine you'll love it!

This is my second visit to Mi Patria & won't be my last. Both times I have brought Missionary friends who lived in Ecuador during the 80s & 90s. I spent time with them while they lived there as well. All of us feel the food here is very, very close to the food in Ecuador and very, very good!... More

This is one of my all time favorite places in Iowa. Their food cannot be beat. I have not had anything that I did not like here. I have gone multiple times on this visit to Des Moines, and I come here every time I am in the area. I can't wait for my next visit.

I wasn't too sure about this because I had never had Ecuadorian food before. I had no clue what to expect and I wasn't familiar with any of the dishes. Wow! Everything was so incredible! Everyone in the group was very pleased with our meals and agreed this was one of the best places we'd eaten. There were only two... More

One of my favorite restaurants anywhere. The restaurant is small and quaint. The food is amazing. Dishes you don't find elsewhere. The food is all prepared fresh and authentic. There is a lunch buffet Saturday and Sunday...worth the trip...a sampling of many of the dishes on their wonderful menu. The staff is attentive and helpful with menu choices. When anywhere... More

We have been to Mi Patria twice and both times it was amazing. Their cheese empanadas are the best! They are topped with sugar which sounds not good but if you try it you will realize it's wonderful. Their arroz con pollo is flavorful and has a great texture. Their pulled pork is succulent and wonderful. Their steaks are okay,... More
