Visiting the Royal Oak for the lst time I found the pub very cosy with an open fire. The Landlady was very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Six of us ate and all meals very plentiful and delicious. Definitely worth a visit.

A warm welcome, great beer from the Westerham Brewery, an excellent ploughman's and biscuits for our lab! A perfect end to a beautiful walk.

This was my sort of pub ... cosy, delicious, locally-sourced food and happy service! I had a lunch that was so tasty that it broke my heart when I couldn't finish the generously-proportioned main course. And it didn't break the bank. There were four of us, and I and my partner were at this great old pub for the first... More

Our horses are stabled near this pub and it will be our yard local. Quality lunch. Ordered sausage baguette and chunky chips. Exceptional value for what you get. Hearty meals with local produce and great customer service. Will return for sure!

We stopped over for late lunch on a Saturday, the royal oak is a cosy local pub with a welcoming atmosphere with higgledy-piggledy furniture (meant in an endearing way). Ordered fish and chips and the house burger both were spot on! Would recommend a visit, the only downer is the limited parking but we managed to get a spot.

Our walk leader arranged for our walking party (five people) to have pub lunch here at the end of out walk. Our choices from the menu were made prior to us starting the walk. The quality and quantity of the food was excellent as was the service from the pub staff. The pub was very busy with diners but a... More

I took my family for an dinner out here after having stopped by for a drink and liking the look of the menu. Overall service was really good. They were short staffed in the kitchen and so the food took a long time to arrive but we were kept informed of what's going on and tell staff did apologise for... More

Holidaying in Kent from Ireland and we went to visit Chartwell. We were hungry for some hot food after a 'let down' in the Chartwell restaurant. On arrival at the Royal Oak friendly Dawn greeted the four of us and showed us to our table. Order was promptly taken and drinks taken to table. The ambiance was relaxing and cosy.... More

We visited here as it was close to our B & B. Extremely welcoming and friendly staff. Good menu choice; not your standard 'boil in the bag food' served so much these days. My husband said it was the best Hunter's Chicken he has ever tasted - and he's had a few!
