My wife and I stopped in town looking for a nice restaurant by the Miss River. We followed Trip Advisor and walked uphill to the Pelican. It's not by the river but you can get a view from some of the Pelican's windows. Kyrie, our waitress, did a great job serving us. Both the chicken salad and the resotto were... More

I loved the atmosphere of the Crane & Pelican. Not a generic chain restaurant! The staff was wonderful and the food was delicious. I loved the variety of the menu. Nothing ho-hum. Definitely a must stop on any visit to LeClaire.

We were here twice during our stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. I had meatloaf sandwich one day and pulled pork the next. Both were good but I would definitely recommend the meatloaf. It was moist and flavorful. I had the smashed potatoes both day. They were delicious. My mom ate lighter. She had a bowl of the chicken... More

We went to LeClair to visit Antique Archeology and were told by the hotel clerk to give the Crane & Pelican a try. We were seated right away even tho we did not have reservations. My steak and sides were excellent. My wife's seared ahi tuna was as good as she had in places on the East Coast. My steak... More

Our group had dinner here tonight. What a delightful experience. Our server, Sarah, was very attentive. We started with the summer sangria which was quite refreshing. The pecan encrusted salmon was perfect. Others in the group tried the stroganoff and the lobster mac and cheese and found both of these really tasty. The fact that the restaurant is in an... More

The food is changed seasonally here. I had salmon with a blueberry compote that was delicious.. My husband had a half portion cobb salad that he loved the old house that the restaurant was in was really cool. You can see the Mississippi River from all the windows and I am sure there are pleasant ghosts residing there.

We decided to go a little out of town - 25 minutes away, for a quiet dinner and some walking. Chose The Crane and Pelican after reading reviews, and glad we chose to eat there. Husband ordered the meatloaf w/mushroom sauce which came on homemade bread on a bed of mashed potatoes, with a side of broccoli. I ordered the... More

We came in on a Thursday and had the whole restaurant to ourselves. Wonderful view of the river. The restaurant is built into a house which creates a cool vibe. I thoroughly enjoyed my gluten free beef stroganoff. Service could have been a little better I guess. Still an excellent experience overall.

Great food, great view, great service. New twist on mom's meatloaf and sweet/savory salmon. Completed our night with the best root beer float. We will be back!

The restaurant is in a large Le Claire mansion and has a bright, classic historic atmosphere, I had the beef tenderloin sandwich with a side of mushroom risotto, and for dessert, I had the homemade blueberry cheesecake ice cream. The food was absolutely delicious. The service was prompt and well-executed. Well worth it for lunch or dinner. I would stop... More
