I've been ordering from Sam's for decades and have always liked the food but the past two times I've had horrible customer service. One time, the food came burnt and they would not issue a refund. The next time, the food came late and cold, and the order was incomplete. When I talked with the manager, he lectured me, would... More

Excellent thin crust and Chicago style pizza. Also, pretty good selection of beer. My son loves the wings, and he's right, they are good. I've also tried the calzone and love those as well. We'll be back soon.

I have been here twice for the 4.99 calzone special, unfortunate I don't think it even exists. They will bring you a bill when your done and upcharge you for the regular price of the special. Business must be pretty sad if you have to do this misleading practices.

Tasting their calazone after you dip it in their homemade garlic ranch sauce is like tasting the kiss of an angel. There thin crust pizza is amazing as well. I've never had their deep dish Chicago style pizza only because I can't go there and not order a calazone! it's that good. The crust is flaky, light, crispy perfection. I... More

I don't know why this place isn't #1 in the Pizza category. They have one of the best thin crust pizzas I've ever had. The restaurant is loud and sometimes a little rowdy but it's a college town. Service is usually adequate but the pizza is the best. It's always cooked right, not overcooked. I used to live here and... More

We visit Sam's several times each year. We love the stuffed pizza! It takes about 45 minutes to cook but it is worth the wait. The atmosphere is perfect for a football weekend. We love the fish tank too! The seating area is large and can accomodate large groups. The beer prices are reasonable for downtown Iowa City and they... More

This was our forth time to SAMs pizza. All I can say is awesome. The best flavor of any pizza that I have ever had in my life. The best part about our visit is the fact that they have PBR on tap. Are you kidding me. I felt like I died and gone to the promise land. Give this... More

Pizza comes with tons of meat. They cut their New York crust into tiny squares so it's good for a large group especially, but fun for a casual date too. Clean place with big booths and an accessible bar. I haven't had problems with the staff or service, but since it is so close to the downtown bars I have... More

If you are from the Chicago Suburbs and miss REAL chicago style pizza, come to sams. Unlike other businesses in Iowa City that claim they have chicago style, we all know its not. Sauce must be on top of the cheese! I suggest you call in ahead of time and place your dine in order because this pizza takes about... More

Good pizza and a juke box for music. Calm bar-type atmosphere, a good place to watch the game and eat at the same time.
