The tat or tots were great. Stay away from the seafood… its Iowa, how far do you think it had to travel? Good local beer selection. Delicious Breakfast

Had chicken salad sandwich and salad for lunch...fresh, homemade feeling. My wife had a fish sandwich and fries. When she ordered the fries, they were still potatoes..so fresh

First of all, this hotel is beautiful and we got to sit in this round sofa like thingy to eat our dinner. Loved that. We started with martinis cuz they had a $6 special. All were excellant but on our last round we had "La Fluer". WOWSA...Mandarin Vodka, elderflower liquer, fresh squeezed lemon and a splash of champagne...YUM YUM YUM!... More

We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Blackhawk, did not enjoy our evening meal at the Bix Bistro. We had to wait unusually long after our order was placed. When the food finally arrived the entree was cold, not hot as it should have been. When we mentioned this to our waitress, she did not apologize, but indicated it was... More

Rebecca the bartender suggested the Beef Tips and the Davenport salad. They were both excellent and the service was fantastic.

I had dinner at this restaurant on a Friday when I stayed at the hotel. They had a fixed menu for Valentine's Day with minimal options not on the fixed menu. There were adequate servers but there seemed to be some confusion about who had my table. To make up for it they poured me an extra large glass of... More

We really enjoyed our dinner here. We had the steak and ahi tuna and both were excellent. The shrimp and grits appetizer was exceptional. Friendly and attentive service. Also seemed to be reasonably priced considering the quality of the restaurant. We highly recommend it.

I ate twice at Bix on my visit to the Blackhawk, both times I had very friendly quick service. Food was basic American, but fresh and well presented. Price seemed right and I felt that I had good value. There were several good restaurants near the Blackhawk, so I only ate there on 2 occasions

Love Bix Bistro. I have never had a bad meal there, the best burger and the Blackhawk Salad is absolutely fantastic. Great atmosphere and great staff. My next objective is to try the Sunday Brunch.
