Delicious!

This was our first visit to Teddy Larkins and it did not disappoint! The menu is a great mix of classics, feel good food and a thoughtful cocktail list. We LOVED the delicious garlic prawns and the generous Rib Eye on the bone was worth every cent. All this would have made it an outstanding experience on is own but the warm and welcoming service really made us feel at home. We will be back!

We had the seafood platter for 2 adn the ribs for one and had so much food. It was exceptional quality food and friendly staff. Strongly recommend it. $300 for 3 people with a garlic bread starter, 2 dessert and coffee

Good Local Venue - aways great service and food.

We (me and my (partner) took my darlings mum out for an early dinner. All went to plan and we were seated quickly, water orders taken and pre-dinner drinks ordered. Ordinarily, on previous visits I've tended to order meat dishes (it is a Steakhouse) or had a share plate with someone but this time, I thought I'd try something different and ordered the crabmeat tortilla for entree and the fish pie for main. Was glad I did as both were lovely! My darling had the garlic prawns for entree and steak for mains both amazing and well presented and cooked and the other member of our group had 2 entrees with the scallops to start and the chorizo meatballs as the "main" (but entree sized) We've ordered ribs for takeaway before from here and now eaten at the venue several times and we're really happy with the food we get and the service we've received. Great value for money and the cocktail and wine list has a good choice at reasonable prices so we're very happy to recommend. Thanks for a lovely evening guys!

Had a booking on a Sunday, the place is under half full, asked to be moved away from the draught as the assigned table was right by the door, asked for a better table, was told this was not possible, due to walk in's. (really on a Sunday night) it goes without saying, no one took those tables. The seats are uncomfortable, and the ambiance does not betray this is supposed to be high end. The pork belly was actually quite good, as was the service, however the main course, the order was wrong ended up being presented with the $60 steak instead of the $35, if it had been cooked to order, which it was not, it may have worth the error. The accompanied source (pepper) was good. The salmon was dry, and not worthy of the $30 price tag. Overall poor. Bill for two $180 including drinks for an average meal, is disappointing.

We go to Teddy Larkins often, tonight was very disappointing. The ribs were tasteless fatty and tasted like they had been boiled. The steak was served with no chips just steak on its own, two weeks ago they were served with chips and now just a steak on its own. When we booked it was for a 2 hour slot but the entire time we were there they rushed us and were anxious to get us out the door to fill the table. We understand that restaurants are all trying to recover costs but to compromise quality and service is a bit much, remember there are plenty of restaurants in the area for us to spend our money at!

We really do work extremely hard to ensure that every experience at Teddy Larkin's is a great one. I am sorry to hear that on this occasion you were disappointed. Our steak is served with our house potato salad, fries are available as a side. We source our pork ribs from the countries leading supplier, always have. I hope you will return on another occasion.

Dinner with Friends

We had dinner with friends who are club members. I found the menu very limited with expensive entrees same prices as many of the main meals & the selection of main meals limited to 2 choices of fish + fish pie, 2sizes of steak, ribs & 1 salad. Most of the prices were typical of fine dining, very expensive & not relative to those expected in a club. The environment was open & very typical of a club atmosphere with vocal music which was quite loud. Service was reasonable but impersonal. Wines & drinks were very expensive. I found the menu choices limited & unimaginative. My wife & I had the fish pie which I found disappointing, nice flaky pastry but the fish & sauce inside were bland. The others had a small steak & a grilled barramundi which they both said was good. Coupled with 2 entrees & a bottle of one of the cheapest white wines on the menu the bill came to $192.00 To me expensive for what we got in an ordinary environment.

Dear Sir, thank you for your review. I am sorry to hear you experience was worthy of 3 stars. We believe our menu provides a variety and ample offering. Our entree offering includes oysters, prawns, scallops, octopus, pork belly, chorizo meatballs and pumpkin. For mains, the seafood offering is two types of fish + fish pie + king prawn spaghetti . We have a selection of 4 sizes and cuts of steak, ribs and 2 salads. Your dinner of shared entrees, a main meal and a glass of wine for under $50, we believe is reasonable value for fresh local fish, meat sourced from the NSW Riverina and premium wines. Disappointing , pushy staff

Disappointing , pushy staff and insulting manager. We booked it online and were told we hand from 5.30pm to 7.15pm. We arrived at 5.40 and were immediately asked by 3 people what water we wanted then by another 3 people if we were ready to order despite the restaurant being 70% empty and we never saw it more than half full all night. My partner took our 3yo to Major Fun and he wanted to stay. By around 6pm, I had staff and manager coming up to me asking me to order. Eventually I had to order and ate my food alone. Fortunately after my partners steak had been sat on the table for 10 minutes someone offered to keep it warm. At around 6.30 I took over from my partner and she went back to eat. She found a hair in the broccoli And complained to the manager who’s response was “well your partner was sat close to there” incredibly rude and insulting. Eventually they took the broccoli off the Bill but no real apology and no real gratitude. Seemed just like the manager wanted to get in and out ASAP which made us feel like a number not a customer. Fortunately some of the younger staff were very friendly. This is the second consecutive time this has happened. Very disappointing, stressful and not an experience you expect when you are paying good prices.

Excellent Food and Awesome service

Really great meal, nice atmosphere and really good service. The maître d' Remo was a real character and was extremely helpful with food and wine selections. He also spoke in detail about the selections and spent a lot of time with us at the table and true Italian fashion was a great storyteller and really mate it an awesome night. Highly recommend you give it a try. Not super expensive, good quality food, great location and excellent if you have kids.

Great venue but seafood disappointing for the price

I really wanted to give this place a big thumbs up as the venue itself is first class. The steak was on point but I made the mistake of paying an extra $17 for 2 prawns to make the dish 'surf n turf'. If I'd stuck with the turf, 5 stars but 2 mushy prawns for the additional $17 was a rip off. Fresh prawns are not mushy. Given this was supposed to be a seafood place as well, I expected more. The steak on its own at $37 would have been great. If you added 2 small mushy prawns for an additional $17 would you be disappointed? I will return to the eateries here because the venue as I said, is first class, the food quality unfortunately did not match the prices. Next time I think I will eat outside and pick a burger. Another recent reviewer also rated it average and I agree with the comments about the steep prices. I regret not reading that review prior to going

Disappointing service and quality

We've been here for food many many times and for the most part have found it to be good quality and fairly priced. This weekend we had the oysters Kilpatrick which were delicious and the garlic bread which was pretty tasteless. For mains we had the lamb shared plate. The lamb was tough as old boots and only a few pieces of the thinner sliced meat was remotely edible. We advised the waitress we were not happy with the quality of the lamb amd that most was inedible. She just said ok and proceeded to get our bill. There was no apology, or really any acknowledgement of the poor quality meal. It left us very disappointed and based on the experience we won't be rushing back.

Sometimes great food and service, other times hit & miss

Been here over a dozen times. It's very much a hit and miss with both food and service. Sometimes food is perfectly cooked and the staff are very attentive & polite, other times food is cold and over-cooked (usually the prawns and the ribs) and can take a long time to get the attention of the staff to order food or drinks. Staff are always polite though. I would recommend only dining in at Teddy Larkins instead of ordering their food from elsewhere in The Diggers as the food quality is vastly different.

No choice past 8 people and cheap steak

The night started out with a shock when we where were all seated and the waitress informed us that as a table of eight we would all have to order either the seafood or steak shared menu. That worked out to be about $58 each without even ordering what you want. What was really surprising was that one of the eight guests was an 18month old baby, so they really want to push this thing on you. After having to talk to the manager we were allowed to order from the menu, pretty bizarre that we had to go through all that and that such a big kitchen feels like it needs to impose this silly rule. I then ordered the pepper steak which was the toughest steak I have ever had in a restaurant. Again I had to speak to the manager who took it back and apologised offering a choice of another steak, to his credit without charge but no one wants to have to go though all that. Unfortunately as I was waiting for the replacement to come out I sampled the broccolini side and had to spit it out it seemed to have been cooked on an old fish grill that hadn’t been cleaned. At this point I was done having to deal with this place while I was supposed to be visiting family and enjoying a meal and just wanted to eat and leave.

Teddy Larkins never fails to impress. The staff are a credit to Gabby & Michael and the food is consistently excellent. The rib eye on the bone is delicious and a personal fave. My son can eat, but the rib/fried chicken combo even beat his appetite! The wine list delivers plenty of choice and good value, while the cocktails are plentiful and delicious. When in Freshie, give it a whirl, you won’t regret it.

Father’s Day Feast

Made my Father’s Day dinner with family absolutely fantastic. The Father’s Day meal pack was a great idea and the set up included everything we needed. The meat thermometer was a great addition. Tomahawk was top quality and cooked so well. Apple pie topped the meal off. Highly recommended.

One of our favourites

This is one of our favourite restaurants in Sydney. The menu has everything you could possibly want on it, and the food is exceptional. We came here for my son's 13th birthday as he was determined to eat a full rack of ribs - but couldn't manage it all! The food is fresh and comes with the most unique, delicious flavours - and no one will go home hungry. On top of the food being spectacular, the restaurant owners and staff make you feel so at home - they are so welcoming, engaging and add to the whole experience. Would recommend every time.
